Help!

Lookinng for Cad program that hs the same graphical interface as Autocad 2019.

Months ago, I downloaded a cad program that had pretty much the same graphical interface as Autocad 2019, but at the time was somewhat limited in it's features, so I didn't keep it. Do any of you guys know what cad program that is/was???

Have you tried a search like this? CAD software like AutoCAD!

Well, if the GUI was too AutoCAD-like, maybe AutoDesk stomped on them... But there do appear to be quite a few freeware CAD programs with AutoCAD like capabilities. I use the modeler program for my Lightwave3D CGI software for simple stuff and SolidWorks for more complicated. But I don't do complicated very often. I have designed and fabricated a lot of stuff with CNC, 3D printing and laser cutting and for the most part it's all been done with the CGI modeling software, which is a lot simpler than AutoCAD (or SolidWorks). For most of the things we hobbyists do, IMO, AutoCAD (and SolidWorks) is overkill...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking also. I use Autocad 2019 for my 2D stuff for my lathe, mill and laser and Fusion 360 for 3D for my 3D printer, but both are 3 year licenses and I would like to find something that doesn't run out. I have tried a few other ones, but so far haven't found one I like for 2D.

I think 2D is less about the software and more about the design approach. At least, that's how it was for me. Took me a few tries to figure out how to generate good 2D data from my 3D software. But once I did, the workflow has turned out to be a lot simpler and the 3D software handles it just fine...

Well.. as noted, I am using Autocad, and it works very well for me. I like to be able to input dimensions as I go, and most of the cad programs I have tried, I couldn't figure out how to do that.

I use AutoCAD 2000lt upgrade and AutoCAD 95.
AutoCAD shows on eBay
AutoCAD 95 to 2000 works on Windows 10 64bit. This lower cost and both works great on Windows 10 1903 .

Here one on eBay for $300.00 or OBO
