Where to fly in San Rafael, CA?

I will have my Zagi on Friday and want to find a great place to fly it in Marin. Does anyone know of any clubs near San Rafael? I saw a Marin club but no contact info or webpage.

tic point on the coast or four corners

They are both slope but are not regulated against electric. They both have exquisite views that I miss very much. you can fly elec. assisted and stay up forever.

Here's what I've found in/near Marin so far...just started in January.

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ht=san+anselmo - Another reference to 4 corners and tick point - haven't checked them out yet, though - sounds like mostly gliders.

http://www.barcs.org/default.html - Club with flying field across the Richmond bridge. May be mostly gas planes. They keep their gate locked, so need to call them if you'd like to go out and visit.

http://www.mindspring.com/~thayer5/f.../mac/mac1.html - Informal group that meets at St Vincents, mostly to fly little rubber-band jobs, it seems. They have access to the gym there, if you're interested in indoor stuff.

http://www.wcflyers.com/index.htm - In Sonoma, but seems quite active. May be mostly gas planes.

When I talked a barcs guy, he said there are some that fly at Hamilton in Novato - he said they're mostly helos.

I fly my slower stuff (all I have so far) in Corte Madera park or Piper park (Larkspur) very early when the winds are down, and no people. Also flew in the large field between Kaiser Hospital and the school in Terra Linda, and in a little-used park behind some trees on the right, heading west a couple of miles on Lucas Valley Rd.

Let me know what you find. Also wouldn't mind seeing a Zagi fly, when you're ready for an audience.

Flying in Marin

I'm currently living in Novato, and looking for places to fly. Currently, I have to fly when I visit my parents in San Jose. I have heard about Hamilton, but there may be problems with the EPA / ownership there.

It amazes me with all the open space around that there aren't more spots for electric planes to fly. If you hear of any sites, let me know!

Well, they actually fly at the dump (oops land fill) in Healdsburg. Yes, mainly gas boys.

And Hamilton got closed down.....

Thanks for the welcome. I am so glad to be back into RC again after a couple year break. Can't wait for the Zagi to get here. I acually found a place the built the entire thing and shipped it for $279.00. I think it was well worth it. I will try to build the next one after I get a sense of that it should look like and fell like.
