Neither, the winding diagram has nothing to do with wye or delta. Any winding diagram can be hooked up in wye or delta. Which is nice, you get two motors for the price of one Of course this still does not answer your question, I don't know.

I think what he's saying is that the correct question would have been are the AXI windings terminated Wye or Delta? but again who knows, it shouldn't be too hard to tell if you can see the connections.

Answer: Pull one apart.

Best guess: Wye winding as it's easier to do with production runs that high...

I can see the connections in my AXI 2808-24 without disassembly, and it is connected in a Delta configuration.

get in close with a digital macro photo of where the wires around the stator poles go and post it here... That would be anyone with an axi motor.

if the last number xx 2208-xx 2212-xx ... etc, is the number of turns then it's delta because if it was wye the kV Should be lower, it's what i think.

GEO .

Thats what I figured.

The reason for the question, is that from reading lots of info around the place, most people seem to wind their motors with fewer turns and use wye but AXI motors are probably the most respected brand of commercial motors.

Why do the DIYers use wye and Model Motors use delta ?

I would think most commercial outrunners are terminated Delta, most who wind their own do Wye so they can do fewer turns as it is easier but when it's machine wound it doesn't matter how many turns they have to wind.
