Build Log

48" Scratch built Tigermoth

Tiger moths has always fascinated me. Starting a build log thread of a small electric TM designed recently. Here is a ink to plans posted on AeroFred.

https://aerofred.com/details.php?ima...92&mode=search

The first step is get the parts laser cut.

Mr. Adeem from Hobby Lobby was kind enough to do that.

Will update on progress..

I'll be watching. Flew my TM into a light pole a few years ago, I've been missing it. She's a good flying plane.

First step is to make the firewall/battery box. seems to go well. I made all ply parts from 1/16" lite ply. to make 1/8" firewall, sandwiched two identical F2.

This is a great size, love my Dynam foamie but a wooden Tigermoth just looks a bit sharper. Watching your build with interest!

Fuselage 80 percent complete.. verticals and bracings are attached flush with inside face of longerons. The whole weight of this assembly is 98 grams. My target is to achieve around 1200gms overall weight RTF.

Subscribing to the build. I also download Farooq's other plans that he posted on Aerofred. They are wonderfully drawn with excellent and clear details. Especially the extra details regarding the wing mounting and struts for the biplanes, and other areas as well. Very instructive, great work!
