Uruav ur85 review ( and mods latter on )

This will be a written review but I also make video reviews and I included that here if you would like to watch rather than read plus I probably ramble about how it compares to other stuff too so might be interesting.
Also I make the flight videos seperate to the review video so that it's easier for you to find the parts you want to see.
I add pictures at the end of the review.
I'll be adding to this discussion if I later find anything of note like better props or if something breaks...
Please ask any questions and I'll try my best to answer them.

The uruav 85 basic version reviewed here by there is also a hd version with caddx turtle V2 1080 60fps recording for more money and more weight and the picture on the live feed is worse on that so if like me you just enjoy flying rather than filming get the basic version as it will give you a better experience.
Bought from banggood here ( affiliate link at no extra cost to you but helps me fund future reviews so please use this link even if you buy sometimes by else I still get a little bit of a % of anything you buy on that visit )
First up a couple of flight videos on supplied 3s 300mah and 2s 300 turnigy nano techs so you can see if it's fast enough for you.
Quite fast and good flight times of 4 minutes maybe more on 300mah.

Uruav85 3s lipo none hd version park flying freestyle (4 min 17 sec)
Uruav85 on 2s 300mah lipo at the park freestyle cruising. (4 min 11 sec)

And the bench review.
25 June 2019 (17 min 0 sec)

The specs are on the website of course so I won't go into too much detail there but basically it is a 85 mm brushless 2s/3s whoop with eos2 camera and 200mw vtx 0805 9000kv motors using the usual aio 5/6amp whoop FC used in most of these brushless whoops now.

To keep it short I will simply list good and bad points and give my impression afterwards.

Good points.
Reasonable flight times over 4 minutes
Good power especially on 3s
No yaw washout to speak of.
Very nice clean image with good dynamic range on the eos2 camera with very little jello ( eachine trashcan had very bad jello with this camera )
200mw vtx gives good video signal range.
Frame feels solid including the canopy .

Bad points
0905 9000kv Motors get hot hovering or flying slow indoors on 3s ( but are fine flying around outside at speed getting just a little warm )
16/9 image so if like me you have 4/3 goggles the image is slight squashed from the sides but it did not bother me after a minute or so I got used to it.
Fov is narrow compared to most aio cameras so feels slower than it really is and makes landing with full camera tilt tricky because can't see the ground.

Overall impression.
I like flying it outside but not indoors due to the camera fov ,
It feels solid all round and apart from the motors getting warm I'm not worried about breaking anything.
It's fast and fun without being at all intimidating to bystanders.
Compared to say teh mobula7 it has better flight times and feels stronger and has better picture but isn't quite as light and nimble feeling.

For the money it is a bargain with the eos2 camera and 200mw vtx and 3s capabilities.

Thoughts for improvement

I think it might be better with 1102 or 1103 motors , the hd version comes with 1102 motors some maybe even worth you buying the hd version, using the hd turtle V2 in another bigger build and just adding a cheap aio camera like the akk bs2 etc to the ur85.

These props will be better too, quieter smoother and probably more power and I will try those out soon. ( affiliate links again )
