Can this be bound to a Spektrum transmitter?

No. Big fail from Horizon. Uses flyzone which is not spektrum. Could use the anylink box though i am guessing to attach it to spektrum. But of course that box is discontinued though you can still find them.

Yes, huge fail ... in particular since HH gives no no clue as to what protocol is used in this new Fokker. I could not get a bind using Anylink 2 with my Spektrum transmitter. A real shame since HH had great opportunity to make a lot of folks happy (as well a filling their coffers)!

As an aside, I also tried to pair/bind to the old Ares toy transmitter, and it would not, so this version of the Ares D.VII uses a different protocol than Ares. So ... protocol appears NOT to be Spektrum DSMX/DM2, Tactic SLT, or Hitec Red.

Nice. Thanks for checking the anylink. For 66.00 i can buy the parts minus the brick, motor and gearbox. Think i will go that direction to convert it. Why Horizon, why?

Young fellow did a fine job. Always nice to listen to a well mannered, well spoken youngster. Words were well thought out before he spoke and he spoke clearly. Enjoyed the review and hope he continues to do them.

Congratulations to his parents for this well spoken young man.

Once again, Horizon fails to deliver a well-thought product!

Chris Dickerson, the Horizon Hobby president and key design-team members are so out of touch from the real hobby of model airplanes that it is baffling they still have jobs!
