Alpha Mig 15 Building Tips and Questions
Hello friends I just bought a new Project to build and fly yesterday. I got my self a new
-Alpha Mig 15 Kit
-Himax 2025-4200 brushless motor
-phoenix 25 amp esc
-Apogee 3s2p 2100 li-poly.
All are brand new and I need some help to build this successfully
All comments are welcome and please post me some trend that is already in other discussion. this will be my new Edf Airplane
There have been a few threads on this subject (see below). I just finished building my second mig and used info from the threads I just linked. Pay particular attention to attachment of the wing, especially with respect to removing paint from the wing attachment point (rubbing alcohol on a q-tip works wonders). There are plenty of posts with good modifications to this aircraft to make it a little stronger. Don't let the posts talking about the wings falling off scare you...If you follow the advice about the wing attachment you will be fine. The Mig is a great flier...I am certain you will like it.
You will be a little heavy on the total weight with that setup (especially the battery). I wouldn't worry about it as my Mig is nearly the same (except with the 5300 KV motor).
As to flying the Mig make sure you have plenty of room to land. I had three crashes with my first Mig and every one of them was a result of me compensating for the fact that the Mig really tends to stay in the air (on the last crash the tree won). Once you get close to the ground it seems like forever before it finally touches down.
