Vuhlets Carbon Fiber Repair Kits

Hi guys,

I am considering ordering materials for another run of repair kits using material from Vuhlets Carbon Fiber:
https://www.facebook.com/VuhletsFiber/

I am looking at the 60g/m2 Triaxial as it is almost identical to the Carboweave CW60 3/45/0 we used last time.

I am also considering the 40g/m2 Biaxial fabric as it is less expensive and in most cases may be sufficient.

Please let me know how many of you are interested or chomping at the bit. It likely takes about 15-20 orders to make it worth the hassle of importing the fabric.

Thanks,
Wayne

Probably same as last set of kits. Around $25 for a 300mm x 400mm square.

Guys,

How is this stuff different than the tried and true Carboweave? Price might be a little cheaper, might, but its the same lead time as Carboweave. Maybe I'm missing something obvious??

Price is about 75% of Carboweave. Does that make it worth trying? Maybe.

If enough guys are interested we'll give it a go. I will need enough orders though to cover costs before I jump back in the frying pan.

For comparison: The 60g triweave equivalent of the Carboweave CW60 3/45/0 is priced at $156 per 600x3100mm sheet where the same size sheet of Carboweave is priced at $191.40. I assume shipping from Eastern Europe would be very comparable.

One thing that does interest me is that Vuhlets is willing to take PayPal which is a big layer of protection. My last order with Carboweave through their website resulted in my credit card being hacked.

Problems with PayPal - please be patient

*edit*

Update: Have been working with Vuhlets and PayPal to try and get the PayPal Credit issue worked out. This is not the only Eastern European vender where I have run into this issue. If we can get this fixed here for them, then maybe we can help others too.

My order is packed and ready to ship as soon as the 'block' is removed.

I think back to when I first set up my PayPal account and all the verification steps I had to go through for approval. I suspect that foriegn businesses must have it in spades.

Hang in there. The product will be coming, one way or another.

Thanks for your patience.

Only three to four of us responded. Is that enough buyers, Wayne?

I have ordered four sheets of fabric. Two are 60g tri-weave and two are 40g bi-weave. Half of one of the 40g sheets is already spoken for.

This is more than I ordered last year, and it's because I ran out so fast last time that I had to turn people away. I am expecting that this will allow me to keep material in stock for a longer time. So it is not so much how much advance response there is, but how long can I keep it going.

With the summer coming on, boo boos will happen.

Now, if we can just get the finance end ironed out...

Invoice has been paid. Expect delivery in about two weeks.

Will start posting in the 4sale forum when I have actual materials in hand.

Tracking Update:

Tracking says shipment processed through Kiev on the 11th.

Hope it doesn't take too long to get across the pond.

btw, I've been repairing some fuses with the 60g triweave sample I receiver earlier. Handles and looks just like Carboweave. I am liking it a lot.
