27" Northern Pike - 0.3mm Nozzle

After way too long, I've just decided to upload the STL's for the 27" version of the Northern Pike.

Here's the thingiverse link:

Figured I'd start a new thread specifically for this version, as the other was getting to be rather large and hard to wade through. If I can recover the lost files on my dead backup drive, I'll eventually try and post g-codes.

So quick specs:

Around 360 grams printed weight, and probably 560 grams AUW.

For electronics, you could technically use the same as on the full size pike (except servos), which might be a little nuts. A bit more reasonable setup would be a 2204 2300kv motor, 20-30A ESC, 2x HXT500 servos, and a 1300mah 3s-4s battery.

Dry your filament! Even if it came from the factory vacuum bagged, I haven't found a brand yet that didn't benifit from additional drying. I imagine most of the PETG out there is manufactured in a wet environment, and must not always get sealed in a timely fashion.

Also, a quality .3mm nozzle. For my Prusa printes genuine e3d nozzles gave me the same quality on the small plane, as a .4mm did for the full size one. I tried a couple cheap nozzle with horrible results.

This thing will have to be printed with a layer width of not more that .32mm or it will be too heavy, and you'll likely run into slicing problems if you try.

So, to use a .4mm nozzle, you'll still need to change the width, which will probably be a pain to tune for (I'd anticipate stringing being an issue). Guess it depends on if you want to spend money on a .3mm nozzle (they're cheap) or on wasted plastic and time tuning.

But who knows, maybe the tuning wouldn't be that bad. I have not tried.
