This is perfect for David Merriman, a way to combine two genera of modeling...

How about the Delta Flyer from Star Trek Voyager? It was modified to function underwater in one episode.....

Looks like a ducted thruster, intake is the main deflector and exits under the fantail. Uses clear forward planes I noticed.

also seems to have good functional dynamics. i have seen a radio control flying enterprise (homemade backyard flyer) i always thought that the design was functional. i enjoyed reading about the functional dynamics of the Seaview by Dave Merriman, and some of the drawbacks. i wonder if the walmart sub will fit under and in my Seaview model? I know a micro sub will fit! but could look cool with the outer false hull of the Seaview over the walmart sub.
(this is an edit) just got one of those microsubs based on the kilo class, and i can see the seaview in action already got to love ebay, 5.50 and 10.00 shiping. dive, dive, dive

On the subject of ducted thrusters is there any subject material on how its done. The only way I can see my typhoon actually being able to move is going to be through this kind of method seeing as I cant find RC replacement screws small enough to fit the scale of the kit.

This is the english online translation page. There are plenty of shots of the models opened up for viewing.
