lets see some without the canopy, then now would you.

The youtube vids of the test flights 3d are quite mind boggling really, simple "WOW" will suffice.

excellent work on this one guys, like to have one if I could, made me giggle how tech has gotten so discreet and defined, flies really well too.

canopy can grow on a person.

Yeah, it's a really nice design. Very 'conventional' nothing really new or ground-braking but really nicely engineered and looks to be extremely high quality. This seems to be the Oxy way with all their helis.

The one and only thing I'm not quite so keen on is the price, which isn't even confirmed yet but looks like 'at least' $550. But I wish Oxy nothing but good luck with the Oxy5, I hope they sell lots of them.

$550 is in line if not cheaper than most other helis that can handle 570 size blades.

Goblin 570 is a competitively priced 570 right now, but it has lower cost parts like g10 frames. It's also leveraging years of the same design now so it should be lower in price.

I don't know if the 550x align can do 570.

The Synergy 516 is not cheap and can only be stretched to a 550 and you have to buy new parts. And no flexibility to run 12s.

The same with xl power 500. Only goes to 550. It's a cheap 500 though, but no flexibility to run up to 570 and 12s.

Logo 550 se is $565 but has blades. She can run 550 to 610. 6s to 12s.

100 bucks either way isn't going to kill anyone when you look at the overall cost of a large heli.

You get what you pay for - and this looks to be a very well engineered, quality product so perhaps it is not that expensive for what you are getting?

I'm with that. Also, someone should be able to design and manufacturer a product and be successful and make money. I don't like working for free so not sure why we all expect helis to be dirt cheap.

glad it's not the smaller 500 size, more towards 600mm than back down, 550 ish is a decent all around flyer without the imposing 700 size that needs a good quarter acre or more to really enjoy and a 550 and up autos just fine.

I wonder what the lipo-less all up weight is..

Do you suppose price is co-ordinate with blade mm size? Obviously not all helis could be assessed that way due to component cost and quality.

It looks like a great heli I just don't need another 500/550 right now. Maybe in a year or so when used ones start showing up.

See that's why you need this! It's a 550 to 575.

Yeah, you are probably right, for a heli of it's quality then it's maybe priced 'about right'. As i said, i hope they sell plenty because Oxy are doing good things for the hobby.

I guess my expectations on price have been somewhat skewed recently by the Soxos Strike 7 pre-order price and the new KDS .......
