Honestly, Mark, that is your name right? I never said anywhere that the flip wasn't operator error. I never proclaimed anything actually, I asked the community a question, and was given support, and lack thereof by many. But I know you pride yourself on making points like that so I'm sure you feel great to do that. You and some of these other cats in the boat world are "kick em when they're down" type of guys. On the flip side, I've been approached by several boat hobby vetererans that genuinely wanna help me get it set properly and help me gain knowledge. I thought I got that impression from you initially, anyway beating a dead horse. My big thing was how in very similar conditions the boat acted differently. And when it went airborne the batteries were further forward than the day before based on people's recommendations after watching my vid. Anyway, I've received some tips and I'll go back and do more homework. Now I know, at this level, with these type of boats "RTR" is a loose acronym. And for the record, fortunately I have the means to buy a new hull or another boat if necessary. My hull is not damaged to the point of unusable and it can be my test bed. So, I'll say thanks for posting vids, I'll check em out, but I'm probably just going to see you driving your boats around the lake and then see your "world record" GPS speed claims rather than you actually doing an instructional video that would explain the do's and dont's with said boat. You wanna help me out like some of these other guys, cool, if not, cool too. I lose zero sleep over this stuff... |

PB, I think more of the rants were from others on FB trashing the boat, not you trashing it.
In any event, it just shows how only very experienced folks should be pushing one of these cats to its limits (or any rc cat for that matter). I, much like you, have less experience with rc cats and I’m doing my best to learn before pushing any limits. But I think it will be a long process. Fortunately we have forums like this with very experienced members that can help lead the way. I don’t have the luxury of local clubs to get an education from the older guys that have been around forever so I’m trying to learn as much as I can from reading about other people’s setups and watching their videos. One thing I’d like to know, is there a reasonable safe speed to run the boat at to get used to different setups that won’t cause fatal blow overs, like only run in 4s? To see what makes it run the smoothest. And will that (smoothest) setup be the same, all other things equal, wind, chop, strut positions, battery position, props, if I go from 4s to 5 or 6s, or will it have to change? If it changes, is it just strut position or just battery position, or both? Is there any kind of formula for it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m still waiting on the 5.5mm bullet connectors to get here so I decided to put it in the pool and look for leaks. Only thing leaking a little is the rudder mount bolts. Should I pull them one by one, stick some silicone in the hole and reinstall? Or should I pull the bracket and silicone ‘gasket’ the whole surface area of the mount?

Antenna Inside Hull
Question
Does it make sense to relocate antenna inside of hull? Thinking about doing this and using a rubber plug to cover antenna hole. |

I finally had the time to solder up all of the 5.5mm bullet connector on everything I basically own. I did my two 3s packs first last weekend, and took her for a spin. Man what a rocket even on two batteries to both motors. I did one pass and it went into limp mode or something and only ran at like half throttle. Brought it in and the positive connector wire on the esc side was bent like 90 degrees. I guess I must have had a bad solder joint on that one and it got hot and tricked the esc’s into lvc or something. So I desoldered it cleaned it up and made sure this time it was a solid job.
One question I have, can I series three 2s packs for 6s to each motor? I have ten 2s packs and only two 3s packs. So the easiest way for me currently to get 6s to each motor is to use six of my 5000mah GenAce 2s packs. Or am I asking for trouble? I gotta say I do like the bullet connectors to series packs instead of using a harness adapter. Also, anyone have a good home brew hack for ‘anti spark’ with the bullet connectors? I ran it today with the struts at 3.5mm and only three of the 2s packs and was very happy with the results. I think I can easily fit 6 of those packs in there if I want. But I did just order a six pack of the HRB 5,000mah 50-100c 3s packs.
But with the 3 packs in there, all the way forward, on a rough and windy day the boat handled great. Only flipped it twice. Couldn’t run flat out all the time but still fast with short WOT bursts. It’s running perfectly flat. I’m thrilled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just pick one up last week for the 4th weekend and wow. I bought the Spektrum 6s 100c 5000mah packs and its amazing. The velcro straps are barely long enough. I actually pulled a bit too hard and broke one. I will be replacing them all with longer ones. Overall, super happy with it.

What I'm calling claims are your "world's fastest" proclamations. You are assuming there's noone out there who is as fast as you. Therefore that assumption is a claim as you don't , and never will have the ability to confirm such things when there are so many boat hobbyists out there. On the flip side, you may actually be the "world's fastest" in some categories bc it appears little to noone actually gives a crap about top speed in RTR boats. Most whom I've seen or read about want alot more out of boating. I like the top speed stuff for sure, but it can get old fast and is more like work than fun. |

Good morning! I'll respond now that I can see through the mud you just slung at me with your post.... Now people can see why I don't give out much info on certain things anymore...LOL! You all have to be talking about my 79mph Pursuit . Because that's the only boat that I have labeled as "Worlds Fastest". That boat is true for true, meaning it's been verified by 2 gps devices shown and cleared out before and after the run and with no edits in the video, not to mention the data-logger showing the boat running 79mph in the middle of the lake as well. The 2nd fastest (true for true) Pursuit that is out in public view on any open media source the speed is under 75mph. I could call 4 or 5 of my other boats on my YouTube channel "World's Fastest" but I haven't ..... Ex: Sonicwake 36, Miss Geico 29, UL-19, Or the blazing fast 95.9mph team dasboata built Zelos 36 that's on my YT channel, but I haven't... Also to post here and say"you don't care about speed" is nonsense when every 3rd or 4th post you make is about how you gained .2mph on a 17 inch boat....Again good luck and I hope to see the Pursuit your thinking of getting out on video with a gps in it running sometime in the near future and be sure to let me know if you need any setup help with it also . |

Its only a world record ie worlds fastest if your actually taking part in a regulated competition , otherwise as he mentioned its just a claim be it measured on gps or not ....just saying .
