I do not complain about the price, paid 78 $ for the C34, this is a bargain.
Will probably use all upgrades but the wheel weights (and maybe servo).
Will mount small oil filled shocks for sure… but do not really know, what else to upgrade. Probably I will use a GM-25 12 V motor instead of the stock motor, but first have to test it. And do not know, if a upgrade servo will make sense, have to test the stock (plastic gear) servo first, we will see, how long it holds up.

But I do like to make "custom stuff" and not "kit out of the box".

I paid 28 $ for my MN-45 kit - will probably pay more than 78 bucks all in all when finished (without electronics).
It is not the price…
But my MN-45 will be a kind of "unique", while my C34 will be only unique related to body work.

The stock servos actually are pretty decent and gives very quick response rates. It has withstood being fully submerged in water and mud pretty much every time I take the c34km out.

Wheel weights also are pretty good, I only added mine to the front tires for extra grip.

Bought the motor you suggested! Can't wait til it arrives!

James,
could you please give the exact dimensions of the servo, if it is not too much effort?
length, width and height (maybe only to the mounting tabs, too).

I need to upgrade something, and since I do already have quite a couple of small shocks here, I could only buy an upgrade servo for the C34. Because shipping takes some weeks, I should probably order it now.
Was quite difficult to get the right servo for MN-90 (now I know which ones and that many servos, such as the JX 1171MG, are slightly too large and wont fit into the original mount).

I am sure you will like the new motor.
Maybe you should also try to use a larger ESC (as those mentioned above) for testing purposes. IMO those make quite a difference to the small 10 - 20A ESCs I/we are used to use in those cars.

Thank you,

Walter

Well ... building the kit ... that's why we do it, right ;-)
I prefer building and upgrading more, then riding.

What about shocks? Any1 with good experience?
I still have kit shocks on my C24 (Hilux) because they are just the best :-(

Hi,
not really.
See the shocks in my MN-90 D90 - they work fine for me.
But meanwhile I did get several other different small oil-filled shocks waiting for a truck.
Cannot do a real comparison so far.
I will post my thoughts after I have build the MN-45 and the C34 and so can compare those and several different shocks with my MN-90.

My JJRC Q65, which I am working hard (in modifying) actually and still did not finish, has leafsprings - so no experience and tests with this car.

BTW: Guess, old Toyota Landcruisers and Bandeirantes did/do have leafsprings, so funny thing, they release those cars with coil shocks.

My apologies about the late response Walter, here are the dimensions for the servo: LWH 3.5x1.5x3cm, widest point including the mounting tabs: 4.8cm

I JX PDI 1181MG - direct fit (1171MG is too large).
But C34 servo is a little bit larger, 25 g vs. 17 g (1181MG).
