Build Log

Hobby Hanger P-47 Thunderbolt

Thinking about doing this one next. It's a good flyer. Pieces are still available from Rich Uravitch and possibly a few kits. First one I had was powered by an OS .20. To fit in here I was thinking about using my OS .15 CVA. Will build it as a Razorback and contemplating 6 channels. First build was 4 channel with no landing gear. Hand launch only.

If anyone wants to build along, I can wait till your ready.

Trying to get a decent video of the AT-6 build first Amp. Then the FW-190. Have been testing some cameras the family already has and thinking about something new. Me and grandsonny did a vid of the AT-6 the other day lining up to takeoff and had to abort as a truck came. Then kids got out and they all played together so it worked out. My 1/2A site is an isolated elementary school I've been flying at since 1996. Will be closed for summer soon!

Anyway, I do feel like I owe you guys video, but to be honest, I never invested in any equipment so I'm going to be on a learning curve. Have no idea how to get video up on the site. Have to have a youtube account? Any cheap recommendations for a camera?

Amp, I literally duct taped a camera to my hat to try to get ya vid the other day! Am trying!!!!! That probably looked more interesting than plane vids....

I use a ball cap hat clip adapter and a 40 dollar cam off ebay they use to be 100 bucks - 4K sports cam with wifi link to your cell phone
you can see whats on the hat cam adjust the angles etc. then press record with the phone app. The solution is simple if you do what I did.
You never need to beg someone to film for you nor worry if they are seeing what you are seeing. No more back ground yap or moaning from
the person who is filming because they cant see the plane or they are tired of filming or need to go pee.

In the 1960's this was the high tech shizzle

Today these are the items you need:

Typical wifi 4k sports camera:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-HD-4K...iz_zlJljpALtYg
1 x Action Camera
1 x A Set of Accessories
1 x Power Adapter
1 x Remote Control Must have if you don't have a smart phone to operate from.
1 x User Manual

Memory SD Card type needed for 4K

Typical BALL CAP CLIP MOUNT FOR CAMERA (better clip see last pic)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hat-Mount-B....c100752.m1982

2nd to last pic is my actual set up so you can see how it's configured.
It's 2019 no reason for anyone to not be able to have a cheap
setup like this to save those precious maiden flights and document
your hard earned project flying.

Looks like there is a little bit of interest. Gathering materials captain! Wondering this morning about replacing spar material with carbon fiber square tube and some lightening ideas to make up for 6 channels. Please be patient. This will be my next full build to share in 1/2A.

$85.00 shipped from Rich. Takes around a month from sending the money. As I said, it is a good flyer. Made in USA!
