What are you guys happier with- The EPS-350 C gearing with 9070 prop or EPS-350 B gearing with 8060 prop? I want to use the B since it draws less amps, and the small prop makes it look better and fly faster.

I got to fly my black p40 today. and wow. I learned a lot. first off the rason it was having trounle with the loops is do to the elevator trying to hard to loop the airplane. the wings would warp under the load . so at 50% she flys great... just no on my 2 cells as my 700'd will not pump out enough juice. when i make V4 (some time from now, after i lose V3) I will add a counter balanced elevator, AKA thows tab that stick oun in front of the hinge point. also, im thinking of painting the bottom tho V3 orange and slaping my razor 400 on it . (is that leagle with your rules Irone???)

Bryan......... You may put anything you want on it. The only rule is 7.4V power supply. My planes like more speed. Most of us that know how are timing our 350 and 300's anyway. That is a much better way to improve performance other than using a 3 cell lipo. The motors will burn out but usually only after many, many flights. On my recommended set-up, all surface throws should not exceed 3/4" deflection in either direction.

very cool. I not fond of the 350. I have tested the rz-400 staticy and I think i will be happy with the thrust on 2 cells. just for fun I hooked it up to 3 cells and the moter jump mount and almost went through the wall so I orderd a new motor mound with better gears and I should be ready to fly on thursday the 17. as soon as i get a chance i will follow your advice and taper the leading edges and trailing edges. this thing is already fast thow.

My Little Isp Zero powered with a GWS ISP A gear and spinning a gws 1047 prop will hover, pretty tough to do with no rudder control but on a new charged 2cell 7.4 volt 340mah lipo will go vertical do rolls and loops fly inverted do all kinds of neat tricks, plane is made of 3mm depron and is I bet half the weight of the planes listed here ( weight means spead) I made a bearcat a while ago using a LPS motor and it flew pretty well Im going to try making the p40 using 3mm and the same setup I have now and see how she flys stay tunned..

I just changed this post! I had listed the wrong prop!

Tallflyer........ Go to a 10amp speed controller and a EPS "B" drive 4.43 to 1 ratio with a few 8060 props. This seems to be the best set-up for E-bat. The 10amp speeder will allow for motor tuning. The GWS motor will pull all 10amps when tuned right. The "B" drive gives faster prop speeds which prevent as many wrap-ups. Also a good idea is to place a fuse in line with the motor to prevent injury to the speed control if a wrap-up occures.

It seems many of the newer 2 cell Lipos are actually putting out closer to 8.4 V (rated at 7.4 nominal). Indeed, some dealers are even advertising them at the higher rating (Foamfly.com) . Do you check packs?

Tallflyer,

Pre-printed graphics seem to be the trend now, Digitalset is setting the bar really high for full graphics for foamies. I have played a bit with it but he is doing a great job. Now only if there was a cheap way of making nice glossy stickers.

I like the idea of a flight pack.
