Can confirm that Blade Part # BLH1670A (Aluminum Tail Rotor Blade Grp Set Hub: B450) does indeed work with the Fusion 360 (Smart)...

Replaced the stock Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart 45 amp ESC with the Avian 60 amp one. Wow. Without changing anything else, using the same throttle curves, the headspeed was noticeably higher. I can only account this to the lower overall resistance of the higher amp ESC. I had to back off the flight modes' throttle curves between 10-15%, to return to the previous head speed ranges. That said, I have no plans on running my Fusion 360 on 6S ; I am currently running it on 4S, with the stock 3S motor and pinion, and am impressed with the overall feel and agility of the heli.

I can't wait until mine comes in. LHS says should be in August 1st. Just in time for summer holidays. I have heard so many good things about this heli I look forward to flying it. I don't do 3D so not looking to increase head speed. Flying on 3S should be fine for me. I just hope they don't delay it again.

Maiden flight report
I finally picked up my new Fusion 360 Smart 3S version yesterday and I did a quick hover test yesterday and a full maiden today. I can tell you out of the box it flies awesome and I would say similar to the 230S but with even better tail response. It is very stable, tail holds amazing and is a nice flying machine. The only thing, and a few have reported this issue with the heli, is that it has a very slow spool up. Once you get well above mid-stick it gets going and once in the air it is fine but don't expect a snappy spool up. I gather you have to do an ESC calibration but I don't really care. I don't need a larger heli with a fast spool up. I don't fly 3D. I just love the trim scheme. It really is amazing how well it flies out of the box and with a 2200Mah 3S battery. I am very pleased with it so far. This one will be getting lots of air time. For a larger heli it doesn't feel intimidating. Just nice to fly and very stable. The piro rate is awesome. I highly recommend this helicopter and I am very pleased that I have not experienced some of the issues others have reported such as it tilting sideways on take off or bad tail wag. I have been very lucky with Blade machines that fly awesome right out of the box.
Fly safe everyone. |

Gear replacement
The replacement gear part number BLH5337 is a few mm shorter in diameter compared to the stock gear. The motor can be adjusted. Once the replacement gear is installed, you have to loosen the four bolts holding the motor mount and slide it forward to mesh correctly with the new gear.

The part number in the 360 CFX for the main gear is same as the Fusion but the gear is smaller in diameter than the stock one so gear won't mesh properly with the motor you have to adjust the motor to fit new gear.

first flights
I first flew last night one pack then three more today. Flies great it does have a slow start up with over half stick needed and it vibrates pretty bad till it gets off the ground and up to speed. Once its going and airborne it flies great very gentle and docile it flew great out of the box with no tail wag or any other bad habits.

What a great flying helicopter! Maiden flights this morning and I am extremely impressed. I immediately was comfortable with and was even doing flips, loops, rolls and inverted and nose in hovering with it. I love how quiet, smooth and locked it it flies.

I'm still learning on my 230s. The 230s's tail whine drives me nuts sometimes and I'm curious if the 360 tail being belt driven makes any similar noise?

Any direct drive motor driven tail will make that whine. If pushed hard enough even scream.
With belt or torque tube it is more responsive, holds better and whisper quiet. Also the 360 is more stable and easier to control. As with any heli as you go up in size. The con would be, crashes are more expensive and parts are not as readily available. I have been waiting 2 months for a servo arm which is back ordered till sept 22. |
