The NEW E-flite V-22 Osprey...The Scale VTOL Model You’ve Always Wanted!

The E-flite® V-22® Osprey is an officially-licensed replica of the amazing VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) capable tiltrotor aircraft that features an exclusive flight control system that makes it possible to fly in both helicopter/multirotor and airplane flight. See more details/info below and on the product pages here:

https://www.horizonhobby.com/SearchD...ain=&pageView=

Also, this is the first air product/aircraft model that's a part of our new Early Access program. With this program we ship the product to participating Horizon Hobby retailers so it ARRIVES in their store THE DAY WE ANNOUNCE IT (Thursday, March 21st for this one!) so people in the area can stop by to see it in person BEFORE it's available for purchase/in stock (though you can still pre-order it once it's announced!)! Not everyone will have a participating retailer in their area, but for those that do, it's a rare opportunity to see it before everyone else can/will

To see if you have a participating Early Access Air retailer in your area (which you can do right now!), follow these steps:

1) Visit the "Find a Retailer" link/page on HorizonHobby.com: https://www.horizonhobby.com/HHStore...atalogId=10051

2) VERY IMPORTANT: Click on the "Advanced Search" link/drop down, and under the "Services" drop down menu select "Early Access Air"

3) Enter your address or zip code, then select the radius (the default is "within 35 mi")

4) Click the "Submit" button (or hit Enter)

Participating Early Access Air retailers will be identified on the result list/map with orange colored 'tags', and all/most of those retailers should have this new product in their stores starting Thursday, March 21st! This Facebook video also shows the process for the Early Access Crawler product that was announced next week:

Overview
The E-flite® V-22® Osprey is the scale VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) model you’ve always wanted. It’s an officially-licensed replica of the unique and innovative Bell Boeing tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical functionality of a helicopter with the forward flight performance of an airplane. The exclusive flight control system makes it possible to fly in both helicopter/multirotor and airplane flight, and the optimized software makes the transition so simple and predictable that you will feel comfortable and confident even on your first flight. Simply flip the flight mode switch and the V-22 will automatically adjust the tiltrotor positions to transition into forward or hovering flight.

Best of all you can have the V-22 in the air in almost no time at all! The airframe arrives fully-assembled with a factory-installed flight controller, servos, motors and ESCs (plus a Spektrum™ serial receiver in the BNF Basic version). It’s also factory-finished in multicolor paint, and the included decal sheet allows you to customize the finish with multiple military branch trim scheme options. The super-simple transmitter setup only requires assigning one switch for flight mode selection, then you’re ready to install a fully charged 3S 11.1V 800mAh LiPo battery (sold separately) to fly. You also have the choice to install the landing gear with a castering nose wheel so you can taxi and perform ‘rolling’ take offs and landings, or you can leave it off to enjoy the ‘retracted’ gear look.

The E-flite V-22 Osprey’s incredible vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, combined with its compact size and lightweight yet durable composite-reinforced EPO airframe, makes it possible to fly in places and spaces many other RC models can’t. And no matter where you fly it, the V-22 delivers a scale VTOL flying experience that’s unlike any other—and is a proud tribute to the groundbreaking original.

Exclusive Flight Control Software Makes it Possible
At the heart of it all is exclusive flight control software that has been expertly tuned by our engineers. The end result makes it possible for many RC pilots with both airplane and helicopter/multirotor flight experience to successfully enjoy scale VTOL flight.

Automated Transition
Making the transition between helicopter/multirotor and airplane flight is as simple as flipping a single switch. The flight controller will automatically rotate the tiltrotors and activate the control surfaces as needed.

Three Flight Modes
Easy-to-use Stability and Acro flight modes deliver a wide range of performance:

Multirotor Stability Mode
Multirotor Stability Mode limits pitch and bank angles and automatically self-levels the aircraft when you release the sticks. This helps to prevent crashes and makes it possible to take off and land vertically like a pro, even if you’ve never flown a VTOL aircraft before.

Airplane Stability Mode
Airplane Stability Mode automatically rotates the tiltrotors and activates the control surfaces for airplane flight. Pitch and bank angle limits, plus automatic self-leveling when you release the sticks, work to help prevent crashes.

Airplane Acro Mode
There are no angle limits and self-leveling is no longer active in the Airplane Acro Mode. This allows for tighter maneuvering and even provides the capability to perform some aerobatic maneuvers including loops and rolls.

Super-Simple Setup - BNF Basic Version
The Bind-N-Fly® Basic version can be flown with any full-range 6+ channel Spektrum™ DSMX® or DSM2® compatible aircraft transmitter and comes equipped with a Spektrum serial receiver that is factory-installed and connected to the flight controller. No complex transmitter setup or programming is required. A single 3-position switch is used for selecting between the three flight modes.

PNP version
The Plug-N-Play® version is ready to accept your 6+ channel Spektrum DSMX® or DSM2® compatible serial receiver that easily connects to the factory-installed flight controller for use with a full-range 6+ channel transmitter. No complex transmitter setup or programming is required. A single 3-position switch is used for selecting between the three flight modes.

Landing Gear Options
No tools are required to install (or remove) the included landing gear that features a castering nose wheel so you can taxi and perform ‘rolling’ take offs and landings. Or you can leave it off to simulate a ‘retracted’ gear look and for added performance.

Customizable Trim Scheme
The included decal sheet allows you to customize the factory-painted finish with multiple military branch trim scheme options.

FPV (First-Person View) Ready
For an FPV flying experience like no other, the V-22 Osprey is set up to accommodate and power the recommended FPV camera and video transmitter (both sold separately)

I love Corsairs!
My LHS is listed as an early access participant, can't wait to see what you're cooking up!

I think that this is a great idea. Brick and mortar hobby shops have a hard time turning a profit in this internet age. Encouraging people to go to their LHS to see the new product is a great program. I’ll certainly be taking my lunch break at my LHS tomorrow.

It's either a Beech 18 (which served dual-roles) or a Cessna O-2 Skymaster (which also served dual-roles)....either of which Joel has been harping on for years....just a guess...
