FrSky New Arrival - Taranis X-Lite S and Pro

With the growing acclaim of the new compact X-Lite form factor, FrSky is introducing this upgraded version. The Pro and S versions combine all the benefits of the preceding design with the features of our full-sized radios, along with the newly developed ACCESS (Advanced Communication Control, Elevated Spread Spectrum) protocol.

New for the Pro version is a high-quality, all-metal CNC hall sensor gimbal. Checking the airwaves for RF noise is now possible with the new power meter and spectrum analysis function added to the OpenTX firmware. Both versions feature the addition of a PARA wireless trainer function which makes them compatible with the FrSky Free Link App and AirLink S. The best thing about the Pro and S models is that pilots can now expect even lower latency and enhanced performance due to our new ACCESS transmission protocol. With the integrated 6-axis sensor unit, pilots can use the radio as a motion-sensing controller to control the inputs of a model during flight or use it to point a camera in the desired direction. Like all of our transmitters, all of the beloved features from previous Taranis are included such as full haptic feedback and voice alerts, as well as telemetry and 24 channels and an additional 2 momentary buttons are installed.

Will ACCESS protocol require new receivers or can previous generations be flashed to use ACCESS?

Will the new protocol stil be divided into a FCC and an EU-LBT version or will it be LBT for all regions?

And a question to the new X-Lite S/Pro:
What type is the casing finish? Still this sensitive and not very durable soft coating of gthe original X-Lite or just plain but good structured plastics?
I had a lot of radios during my life, one is about 20 years old, still in use for my submarines and still looking as good as new. None of them was as sensitive and had that low durability as the housing of my original X-Lite, where the coating peels already off after just 6 months!
As I functionally like the X-Lite, I would swap it for the Pro version, but only if that one doesn't have that same lack in surface quality...

Is this the "new radio" that Andrea hinted at a couple of months ago that was going to be introduced?

Also, these use a Micro USB port for charging.
So can you charge these with a standard USB charging cable (like a cell phone) or does it use the proprietary hang on charger that the early X10's used?
