The iSDT 605 Air is a unique charger that is controlled by an app on your phone. The charger itself is capable of 50W and up to 6S batteries and takes 10-27V of DC input power for the supply. It charges HV and non-HV lipos along with other common battery chemistries and it has a 5V 1A USB output port. The neat idea with this charger is the bluetooth capabilities that allow you to connect one or more chargers to your phone or tablet and you can adjust charging parameters with an app. I'm a little torn on that, on one hand we use our phones for just about everything, but on the other hand I'm not convinced yet that this is more convenient than just having a display on the charger itself. What do you think?

This is a great little charger. I have been using it with my 3s 2600 packs. It is limited at 50w but it works great. You can also set it up to use with out the app.

Given the price, it probably makes sense to skip parallel charging board/adapter and just put 4 or 6 of these in a charging case.
However, I would also like a higher power unit offered in the future, something better suited for 5s 5000 batteries @ 1C charge rate... 100W or so. Again, 4 in a case would be nice. |

Nice little charger.
Handles smart batteries with out the app charging with the app is straight forward and will alert your phone when the charging is done. Nice little feature. won't discharge or store batteries. for the price it makes a great second charger. I had an issue with the bluetooth connectivity and my device. ISDT's tech support and programmers worked tirelessly with me for about a week to resolve the issue. and all is good now. |

Probably need the charger's USB output for no other reason than keeping your phone from running dead while using it to monitor the battery charging.

I have one of these, too, and it's great. I bought a small parallel charging board with 6x XT30s plus 1S, 2S and 3S balance plugs and it's almost exactly the same size as the charger. A little double-sided foam tape between the two and it turns in to a pretty cool little compact all-in-one parallel charger. I use it only for small batteries, 1S and 2S mostly, for indoor flying. The Android app is also pretty good.

Nice, LOVE my 608, small, accurate and reliable and a great field charger, charging some cheaper 2S batts is a pain as they only have one lead ( like 1S ) so wouldnt mind a firmware update that negates the need for a main and balance lead on 1S/2S but its a very very minor issue.

Hmm. I could swear I charged 1S batteries with my 605 before. But I let it update FW today before charging, and now it complains that it doesn't see any batteries on the balance tap, my the 1S cells are all on the primary leads. You don't need to see voltage on the balance tap to charge a 1S.
Maybe I'm confused, but I don't think it had this limitation before I updated FW. I'll have to make a jumper and use up one of the 1S sockets to send voltage to the balance tap to satisfy the charger's requirement on seeing some voltage there. |
