I use these 20g motors with 300 to 450mah 2S batteries on several small planes. They make over 400g thrust with an 8043 prop, enough to give my 32"-class 3D planes unlimited vertical. ESCs are 12A Hobbywing Skywalkers.

How many watts do they draw? I'm looking for a motor that uses 40 watts. Weighs 20 grams and 1700kv and turn a 7" - 8" prop. And a esc to go with it. I'm very new to the brush less motors. I came from the a long time ago and brushed motors.

My thrust stand test results on 2S battery:

8040 GWS prop, 294g thrust, 8.0A, 63W
8043 GWS prop, 434g thrust, 9.7A, 76W

What you using for a esc? What is the make of your airplane and the weight of the whole thing?

As I said, 12A Skywalkers.

Several 3D planes, all in the 200 to 220g AUW range.
