Just posted the Video of the SS with BP-21 (Balsa Products) Outrunner on my website. Beautiful combo! It would maintain altitude at 55% throttle setting and keep in mind that's at a "lead sled" AUW of 24.3oz! I didn't like the stick mount setup they furnished so revised the mount to allow easy removal of the motor for maintenance and prop shaft replacement if it becomes necessary. Reamed out the mounting holes at an angle to allow angling of the screws to clear the motor bell. The pics show the result. The 8 X 4 HD prop presents no deterioration in flight ability!

Cool!!! I got one of their Feigao motors with the ESC for $65. WIth a weight of 15oz and 23.7 oz of thrust, the plane should hover at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle! I also made some other mods including homemade Wheel Covers that look great! and an inverted pair of Landing Gear for inverted landings!!!

Wow! Boomer that thing flys great! The verticle take off and the snap turns really surprised me!I bet it'll pull my tank around good too. I'm gonna order one, thanks for being my guinia pig

Thanks Boomer! Its amazing how small those things are.
Anybody try a GoBrushless GBX motor? Im thinking of ordering a double-stator kit to fiddle with.

Nice video boomer. That motor must be running at high rpm to put out that much power with an 8x4, but I could barely hear it.

For you guys looking at the Fiegao combos, I suggest the 22t motor. Using 7 cell packs or 2s lipos and a 1260 prop w/d gear, I get 20oz. thrust at just under the 10 amp limit. The motor doesn't get hot so I suspect it could be pushed a bit harder, but I use the 10 amp ESC, so I'll leave it alone. It will also fly nicely with 6 cell packs, even the GWS ones.

If I switch to 3s and a 1147, I get 27 oz. thrust at @ 10 amps.

Over 100 flights (mostly with 7 or 8 cells) and still going strong. I have gone through a few gearboxes though.

Got a few videos to compare 2s to 3s. The Steelhead clips are both 2s. The other two are 3s. Weight is 18.5 oz. using 2s2p 720's, and 18 using 3s 1200's.

Not very good qaulity, but they do demonstrate the power, and the flyability of the wing. They don't show the speed very well though, it looks like slow motion filming.

Vanning, I've got one waiting for me to assemble but I don't know when I'll get to it. But I tried a single in a gearbox and got 21oz thrust from it! I think 20 oz. thrust is average for a double using a 9-10" prop, so it should work great. I'm thinking a hot wound double in a gb should produce 30oz.+ with plenty of speed for the SS.

Not that works. This can be removed fairly easy with a cutoff disk in a Dremel by cutting the threads and glue each side and the rest just peels off.

Need some advice guys: Flying around today and I wished I had some more power to get me out of trouble. Using a stock SS with a 300 and a D gear spinning a 1260 and a 7 cell pack. What could I change to get a little more thrust? Or should I just learn not to stall?

a 350c-c and 1047 prop should give you more thrust but flight times will be shortened.
300c-d prop:EP1260 volts:8.4 amps:8.5 thrust(g):427 watts to prop:71.40

350c-c prop:EP1047 volts:8.4 amps:10.3 thrust(g):470 watts to prop:86.52
