Radio setup as been a shock BUT all this re-tuning and low output with the internal module upgrade stuff is probably enough for me to sell the T16 on.
The Spektrum i12 should of been my choice.
It transmits as far as my $800 Futaba .I like the tuning feature now. Easy to use and you know it is tuned the best it can be.
I like it I think OTXis going to make this even nicer.

Will OTX turn audio off when not in use like FrSky X10s.
Right now you hear a slight hiss all the time. No big deal just wondering.

Yes OpenTX will mute audio, but what you hear MAY come just from RF bumping your speaker wires, you'll have to see. We have seen significant progress on our radio with the mute tho

Since we're taking about audio and OTX...

I asked this in the X10 thread but didn't get an answer: I still get audible hiss under the audio tracks on my X10S with OTX 2.3.1. Am I correct in thinking any possible fix must be in hardware not software?

Thanks for all the good work!

Not really... I'm not sure if DSM RF freq tuning is really needed since the reports with the latest JumperTX fw are encouraging. There might be different bugs at play in the radio firmware causing this issues. Like I said before there has never been a need to tune CYRF protocols: DSM, DEVO, Walkera, J6Pro, WFLY... The setting is even disabled by default.
The internal module is not bad in term of mw with DSM.

For the ones reporting issues with DSM and internal module, make sure to use this fw.
Please report on this version and the fallouts you still see.

Installed and bound up 2 dsm receivers. One is dsm2 (not official spektrum) and it works perfectly!
The other is a Blade Nano QX dsmx 11 ms. Also worked perfectly!
Edit: Bound a Horizon Hobby UMX Pitts same results! So far no issues.

Thank you Pascal.

Okay, thank you. The soldering on the battery holder looked good, but I didn't try and trace the voltage down line to make sure it was present there. Might have to open this thing up again...

Fortunately, it is clearly designed to be opened with ease.
