JEPE F-16 90mm highly modded for 4S/70mm setup

I know it is not common setup, most of them are on 6S.
Can someone suggest me a 4S motor for 80 or 90mm EDF for thrust around 2kg/70oz?

What plane are you putting in into? Can you modify mount and fit a 70mm edf instead?

For a 2Kg thrust, you'll need atleast 6s on 90mm edf to keep you amp down.

I want to put this setup in F-16 From JePe. This kit is dedicated for EDF 90, and in full setup it weights around 3kg. I want to build it as light as possible and stay with 4S. I have EDF70 setup on 4S from FMS but it has around 1,4kg of thrust. I need a little more, around 2kg of thrust to push JePe F-16, I think it will be better.

Minimal configuration (just foam) weights 850g, so I hope I can build this plane in weight to fly less than 1,6kg based on 4S setup.

Try this:

ecalc.ch

Btw: i have the same kit as yours coming. Going to power it with 90mm edf in 8s 5000mah ( 2x 4s 5000)

Thanks guys. In the meantime I found interesting setup.
https://www.motionrc.com/products/fr...-for-80mm-a-10
It is also interesting option.

I prefer light planes because I can launch them by hand.
For example my MiG-29 with one EDF weights only 1,6kg instead of 2,7kg similar size MiG on the market.

Added how JePe F-16 looks like.

The link you posted is for a FW motor only. The shroud will not fit other types so you would be stuck with their 6S motor.
Personally, I would go minimum 90mm 6S even for hand launch. I have the same model on wheels and it needs a 7S setup to get decent performance.
It will "fly" on 6S but on 7S it moves!

That will not fly. Unless you can launch downhill and keep going.

Very nice.
But like some said, maybe better
With 6s to get some more power to do
Basic ACM ... loops, Cuban 8 and the likes :-) .

6 S 13 blade XRP 2200kv might get 1800gr of thrust and your F16 will be around 1800gr too.
So it will be a nice 1:1 Thrust to weight ratios
For performing fun.... Just me though.

Nice ;-)
.
Question. Did you narrow down the stock
Exhaust for 70mm fan ? Like 61mm diameter???

Ah yes, yes, more power is better, as usually
For me probably 6S setup with 70mm EDF would be better for speed and vertical manoeuvres, and for hand launch as well, but this project is kind of "can I do it?", or "It will not fly! It will, hold my beer!" I like challenges.
Moreover I don't have any part of 6S setup so this is also cheapest version at the moment. Who knows, maybe I will upgrade her, because even on this setup she flies very nice and smooth.

About mods, first of all I cut and slimmed down foam kit from 850g to 700g. Then rearranged EDF position for better CoG balance, and yes I had to create dedicated thrust tube for 70mm EDF.

Thanks for your 6S config.
Bellow examples, where I cut the foam.

red- original position for 90mm EDF
green- position for 70mm EDF

You can also see how many foam I cut - a lot of them - but still rigid for my setup.

Wow, very nice ducting work.
I admire your spirit " Can I do it "

How far back did you move your 70mm fan?
Oh , I just saw the photos.
Thanks.
