Skycat from Multiplex

Is this new foamy the answer to the E3D?

"The electric version can fly a full aerobatic programme on the geared Permax 600, (3;1 ratio gearbox). If you want real performance, the Skycat can accommodate 10 sub 'C' cells and 500w motors!"

Made from similar foam to the Twinjet, geared 600 (an Endo sounds good) and the best bit it costs 55 in the UK...

Anybody got flight experience or more information on it?

You can get more details here http://www.modelspot.com/mpx/skycat.htm

WOW! tempting. I wonder if full aerobatics includes hover?
very very reasonable price also, not much more than what i paid for a twinstar and will take the same packs. i bet the magical gary endo setup would do well.
Someone buy one.

There's a small section about the Skycat in April's RCM&E in the Nuremberg show report. They decribe it has "2002 Sandown star? Could well be!"

Its a good enough reason to go to Sandown just to see it fly... I do hope they will. The picture in the magazine shows one fitted with a glow engine, if the electric version on a 600 is just as good then Multiplex will have another winner on their hands.

Anybody been to Nuremberg see this plane fly?

Just heard that a demonstration of the Skycat is planned for Sandown, which is on 4th + 5th of May

Skycat!

I might have to catch that demo, I've been looking for something like this, and this model caught my eye in a recent magazine.

I've got a BalsaCraft easy street. It flies, but is far to much of a ballistic missile for my tastes. I prefer to fly something that bit more layed back, but as aerobatic as possible.

Taking the packs from my TwinJet would be worth something to me, too (I missed that point, actually!). If I remember correctly there was an option to fit a geared motor, if you prefer (and I do).

I spoke to Graham at WLM the other day and he is hoping to get some kits in before Sandown and to display. I have spoken to Gordon (see his site) http://www.modelspot.com/mpx/skycat.htm
and he has got some kits in .I think there about 64 inc postage.
I'm going to wait till Sandown to get it, plus I hope to get a Jeti phasor 15 or 30 to fit in it on 8 cells.

The phasor isn't really designed to run geared is it? I will have a phasor 15/3 sitting round fairly soon (its going in the PCJ) to start with but the Skycat could be its next home.

looking at the number of posts you've done i assume you are a new member here so HELLO
Then i can only assume that you haven't heard of the E3D designed by Gary Wright.
basically a dedicated 48'' blasa kit capable of all the 3d manoevures you can think of. the endo setup uses a kyosho 16 turn motor geared 4.6:1 using a great planes grbx turning an APC 12x8 prop. on ten cells this hovers the plane. the plane is lightly built to acheive very good flight performance so no battles with planets.

try www.gwmp.net and download the amazing e3d video

there,

Peter

Mudlark. I look forward to your flight report. Keep us posted.I'm a bit worried about the glued on wing. As the squadron increases its hard to find car space to transport them all.

Will you be using the standard motor?

I have a phasor 15/3 in my Pico Jet Combat that I was thinking could find a home here.

Just sent an email to see if they would ship a skycat to the US. I doubt we will ever see these.
