I do not know about the paint and it is difficult to guess from pictures, but regarding motor I can say that it depends on how fast you want it to fly. First you should estimate the flying weight, then select a motor with thrust between 1.2 and 1.6 the weight ( 1.2 for slow and 1.6 or more for fast) considering that you can get 2.4 to 3 grams thrust per watt according to efficiency of motor in its working conditions. For slow flight less cells, less rpm (it is not said less kv) and bigger prop. For fast flight more cells, more rpm and smaller prop. Check in my blog the shrike type model I made. I am now planning to built a smaller one electric with 32" (80cm) wingspan with goe445 with thickness reduced to 3.6% airfoil and I am planning to use a T-motor F80 2500kv with 6s and dont know which prop yet (I want to stay around 37-39A). Finally beware of CG position: place all components in order to avoid ballast to balance it.
