Ed Wilson

I regret to report that the sailplane world and the Louisville Area Soaring Society have lost another lifelong participant and contributor to the hobby. Ed Wilson passed away last evening. He was one of the three surviving founders of our club and served as it's President for many years until the last several when his health constrained his flying activities. He was a proud LSF 5 and frequent NATS participant. He will be greatly missed.

Oh wow, very sorry to hear that. Ed was at the 2nd contest I ever attended. He and Lee were the witnesses for my 8 hour slope flight. I will miss him as a cornerstone of midwest soaring.

Sorry to hear that. This last 12 months has been rough on the soaring community. We've lost some great people.

Sorry to hear this, I knew Ed had issues with diabetes and his heart. He was L’ville soaring, at least in my mind.

I learned a lot from Ed. I will miss the time on the field with him. Many many days of soaring at Vettiner. He is and was a great fella!

I am sorry I didn’t see this till now. Ed was one of the first out of towners that I met way back in the beginning of my soaring journey. Like everyone here I shared many a wonderful day with Ed. In fact I am staring at a plane I bought from him at his last visit to the NATS a couple summers ago. I shall indeed miss him. Endless lift old friend.
