Power Supply on sale @ RS

For those always asking about a good power supply to use in the shop for your chargers:
The current RadioShack.com flyer has the Model SEC1223 13.8V DC 23A switch-mode PSU on sale for $89.95 - that's $30 off the regular $119.95 price. Part number 910-3916. Get it at your local RadioShack.com store, or online here..

Andy,
Bought this PS two months ago and I must say that it is of high quality, comes with a built in fan, and I can hookup all four of my Astro 110D's to it and charge my Sanyo 2400 8 cell nicads comfortably at 5 amps.

Go to the Samlex website for more dealers if you are interested in this power supply. I purchased mine from a ham radio distributor in Texas.

I also purchased one 2 months ago on sale. Very nice. The Astroflight power supply that I replaced wouldn't let my Orbit charger get through the it's power up test. The new supply works just fine with the Orbit.

Perry, seems we sold our old supplies for the same reason.

FWIW, my Astro power supply will work with my Orbit Microlader Pro charger. I hooked up my Whattmeter to check that I don't exceed the power supply's limits and found that I could charge my 24 cell packs at 3 amps. I too would like a beefier power supply, but at least this one works.

I noticed some other lower capacity power supplies for sale at RadioShack.com. What would be good for someone just looking to use one charger and 10 cell NiMH packs?

Thanks.

I will never understand why people must spend more money than they need. I purchased a 14Amp Pyramid power supply for 39.95 on ebay and it works with all my chargers. Try ebay for some good chargers at excellent prices...

Glen, once past the power on test the Orbit worked fine with the Astroflight PS.

OCModels, as Andy points out some of us are running multiple chargers off the same power supply. So we are getting something which meets or needs.
