Can I replace 3.7 V cell by li-ion 4.2 V?
I have a pack 3S of li-ion 3.7 V, last week I found li-ion cells of 4.2 V in same store...
So, I want know if can use a pack 3S of 4.2 V in a system 3S? I want use in my airplane (motor and ESC 3S) |

Li-ion batteries are very similar to Li-poly and you can use the same charger profile for each. Benefit to Li-ion is that you can drain them more than Li-poly. 2.7V vs 3V minimum voltage.
Drawback is that you cannot get the current out of them like you can the li-poly. Most Li-ion cells are protected to 2A continuous but there are some that you can get 10A out of. |

2nd floor "hoppy" is right. It's the same cell.
It's 4.2V when it's full charged, the voltage cut down when you use it, when the voltage became 3.7V the battery will have the best performance, untill the voltage became 2.75V you must stop to use it, it's a deadline voltage. The battery discharge progress actually is the voltage release progress. The capacity we usually mearured is the discharge apms quality from 4.2 to 2.75V. Uhmm... speaked a little to much. Hope it will can help you. |

Thanks guys.
I make a pack 3S using li-ion with display 4.2 V and is really the same cell 3.7 V. This cell li-ion area very cheap, I'll make some things with him, here in Brazil customs given a lot problems to import lipo batteries. |
