Where's the wind?

Opus is a great race platform. It can definitely be competitive. I've won Unlimited with my Opus a few years ago.

It's an easy plane to fly fast even in crappy conditions. Mine will be flying again soon. I just need to program my Taranis for mine.

Typhoon is just a good allarounder. Put in some weight and it can scoot!

Bring on the hurricane force winds!

Looks like 127oz is the official max weight for Redshift based on wing area for F3F.

I should be able to load it up to 180oz range with just wing and fuse ballast installed. I'm guessing it will be 90oz ready to fly without ballast.

Looks like the Unlimited race rules are modeling the official F3F rules so 127oz max it is for the race limited by wing area loading.
I can't imagine!

Hopefully an Opus that I haven’t seen yet.

But I may not be able to stay for the full schedule so I may not be a racer. Either way will be fun.

We have an extra day, but if the weather is good, we will still try to get it all done in one day like in the past. Once we're done, it's fly what you brung time. That's my more goodest english. ;-)

No worries with me if I have to miss a race or two.

Racing is a hoot, but the fun flying and the camaraderie is the best part for me.

Sounds like you should be flying at Weldon rather than Wilson.

I remember a time at parker mtn in Ca. I was in an S.C.S.R. F3F race. The wind was blowing 40 + mph and I was ballasted all up as well as most everyone else was too.
The guy who won the races that day RCG "Timmig" told me he was running his plane unballasted. I said B.S.... we walked over to his plane when he landed and he pulled of the nose cone to show me. Holy crap it was empty ,,flying at roughly 78oz.
Hmmm go figure.

Nick
