Hi Viktor,

Yes it is. I loaded it on dropbox because it was too difficult to find it on manufacturer website.

APK installed, but I'm not sure how to do the calibration. So far I've found and pushed "Acc calibration" at "Set" tab (left up corner) and values migrated to zero. I do rotate device in all axes, X and Z show angle from 0 to 180 degrees, Y show from 0 to 90 degrees. 90 degree on X and Y looks about right.

Upd

Switched back to Throwmeter App, values looks correct now.
If device require calibration before use, then article must be updated.
Or, calibration mode have to be included in Throwmeter App, as well as keeping the phone from sleeping.

Hi Viktor,

Good to know the values seem ok now.

Yes there are several improvements to do for sure. I will update the doc on planet-soaring.

Now, don't forget this App costed you nothing ...

simple test

I am interested in the system but I would like to know the real accuracy.
If somebody has this system could he/she do some small test.

1) Use an (old) " wing and place the sensor on it.
2) zero the system.
3) Then place a drill of a diameter of 1mm between flap and block (the red arrow) and see what the app is telling how many mm the flap moved(should be 1.0 mm)
4) repeat this with drill from 2 to 12 mm.

I am really curious about the outcome.

( I did this with a MMA sensor but was not happy about the result. Maybe the program was not good enough)

Pierre,
I'm not blaming at all, it's just a feedback for possible improvement.

Jeroen,
and how much MMA sensor was off? I wouldn't worry if it was a fraction of mm.

Hi Viktor,

No worries. I'm maintaining a list of improvement.

Hi Vitas,

Yannick started the migration of the source code to github.
I will let you know when it is available.

Pierre,

it was more then 1mm and even was getting more when the deflection was bigger.
for me 1mm is toomuch.

Hello Pierre,
first of all many thanks for your efforts!

I tried to calibrate the device with the APP you mentioned, but this APP wasn't able to connect to the device.
Interestingly your APP is working, even though sometimes the connection is lost.

Any ideas?

regards

Today I've had chance to check measurements precision.
Not a real wing, but some scrap pieces, higned with a masking tape.
And need to say, precision is good enough, within 0,1mm.

You also have to look at how the program calculates deflection. Does it give you deflection in the Y axis or does it calculate the distance of the TE from zero TE position which is what the one mma program does. So your answer will always be greater than your shim.

Mma needs calibration. If you think 90 degree travel would report the width of the control surface, the program gives 1.41* .

I have a rotary table that I use for checking.

This is much better then I had with the MMA sensor!

mlachow:
I did the calibration (5 times).

( i measured the deflection on a horizontal wing)

I will stop here otherwise i am using Pierre thread.

Hello,
I was able to connect the device with the calibraton APP (button "BLE" has to be clicked).
But after trying to start the calibration by pressing the button "SET" the APP crashes and stops.
Has anybody of you made the same experience and found a solution.?

many thanks in advance!
