This is my new wing retention fix.

RUBBER BANDS!

I did not really want to do it like this but it looks like it holds better......

NOTE I am going to mount control horns on the wood. Servos in the fuselage.

This video is me sloping the 707 off a k rail in a parking lot.
Maybe 7 mph of wind and the breeze was a bit sideways to the rail

I have one of these still in the box, in storage. Planning on making it a rudder/elevator/motor glider, with the motor up front with a folding prop. Still not sure what power setup to use. Definitely a 2S lipo, but other than that, I don't know. Any suggestions?

I just finished my battery.

Picture later....

2 AAA 280 mah LiFe

This fits well and plugs right into the receiver.

Simple.

Next I have to install servos and linkage and then I am done.

I have having too much fun with other pitcherons right now........

Battery pack

My current pack has two 280 mah AAA LiFe cells.

Might not be heavy enough!

Ready to fly - Weights

My camera is broken.... But ready to fly!

Weight is 204g AUW

There are 15g of weight in the nose (I need a heavier battery!)

I am not totally sure where the extra weight all is? I do not want to take apart and measure until I need to

Comparing:

Factory stated 168g
Measured 175g as delivered
Ready to fly 204g
Gain of 29g or about 1 ounce which is about 16%

I need to test it on the slope instead of the park now.

Wish me luck!

Measured success

Test flights were hand tosses at a big flat park today into a decent breeze.

First toss dove to the ground. I flipped the flight mode to up trim. That cured it but it is not correct.

It flys fine.

I even think I caught a bit of thermal action with it! Too late in the day though as it was blown out. But hey I gained altitude off a hand launch!!!

I need to adjust the throws more, but not bad for a first try.

Need to double check the CG.

Show stopper was the wings began to bind due to spacer issues. I will correct and go out again tomorrow.

Making progress....

Ready to test again

I do not have a good way worked out for the canopy hold down, so like I do on others a couple of rubber bands does it for now.

I made some adjustments and will test soon. I reduced the nose weight to see if I does not need so much up trim. It flew so nice free flight before with no trim...

I hope to hit the slope soon in air no one else can fly in!
