UR65/US65 Large Battery Bay 3D Printed

Through trial and error using rubber bands, I found that I can use the larger (450mAh and 550mAh batteries) in this quad without issue so long as I wasn't doing a lot of flips and rolls. I get double the flight time and can still fly aggressively through my gates and chicanes, which is my preferred flying style. So, it was time to look for a battery bay that would do what I wanted. I searched Thingiverse and found a number of designs that met some of my criteria, but none that did everything I want (the joy of 3D Printing is that you really CAN have it YOUR way!). So, here is what I came up with that works for me...

The easiest way to attach the bay to the quad (after cutting off the original battery bay, is to insert a large battery into this bay and then simply push the bay on paying close attention to keep it parallel while you're pushing it on. The pins are at their weakest while you're pushing it on. Once they're in, the whole setup is plenty strong.

Just a quick note, I found that upping the Throttle MID to 0.70 and adjusting the Throttle EXPO to 0.42 makes this quad sing even with the larger batteries!

2 weeks ago I made a 2S battery out of the 2 HV 450 mAh batteries I had laying around which were intended for the UK65. I'm printing it at the moment and will examine if I'm going to order those again.
The little Me-109 does like the 2S HV power.

Can't beat 2S HV if you can use it! Obviously not on the UR/US/UK 65 though...

Just a quick pic to show how easy it is to still use the stock batteries with this thing. A small rubber band, and presto!
