Oh, I see! I didn't download the package from Cults, I selectively got the files from Thingiverse.

Where's that facepalm emoticon when you need it?

Thanks again! I downloaded the zip file from Cults and yup, there are the prop files.
They look really good in PrusaSlicer. I'm guessing these are printed with 100% infill?

It's best to print them with 0% infill and four to six perimeters and six to eight top and bottom
layers. I print mine like that. 100% would just make the spinner heavier.

Ah, OK. I sliced one at 100% and looked at the layers and it seems like the spinner is still hollow, but the blades are solid. It's easy enough to print a few and experiment. That's why this is so darn much fun. All the "what if" things I get to try.

Yes. It's great to be able to test things so easily. It's why I managed to make a working 120 mm 4 kW EDF for my EL-39 so quickly.

BTW, I hae never broken any of the Nucking Futs props, other than when I crash with power on. Not a single prop has broken on landing even.

That's awesome! I've got most of the airframe printed, and the wings mostly assembled. I'm holding off on gluing the fuselage nose section on until I can do some CG testing and determine which motor I'm going to order.

I'm leaning towards the Great Planes Ammo 24-33-3180, at 67g. Paired with a 3S 850 pack, that should give me a light setup assuming I can get the CG correct.

Lynxman, I saw a few posts back in the thread where you mentioned you were using a "drone motor" in one of your Nucking Futs versions. Can you share details on what exactly that is? I still haven't decided on a motor for mine.....

Any of the little 2205 motors will fit. Like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dx2205-Mote...QAAOSw3GddbL~6

I ordered a 4000kv motor. Speed is addictive.

Haha, sweet! I'm going to repurpose a motor I was running on an old tricopter. It's only 1400kv, so I may go to 4S or just swing a bigger (folding) prop. I'll run tests to see which route makes most sense.

Going for low rpm/high torque might cause difficulties, especially on launch. 4S is a good idea and should provide decent performance with up to 5" props.

Yep, an issue I'm very familiar with on my Wilco hotliner. I've got the ESC programmed for a slow start / ramp up, so I flick the power on and heave it. The power ramps up slowly so it doesn't just torque over on its back. Works great!

Got all the parts on a scale and the build is almost finished. Specs:

-pla 0.3 width
-full length carbon spar
-modified firewall to even 16mm motor mount spacing and shortened the engine bay to fit the motor

-rc in power gts v2 2207 2750kv
-v good rc airplane 32bit 30a esc
-tattu 4s 650mAh
-aileron d56mg hv, elevator 1109mg
-apc 4,7x4,7
-375g without spinner

Is there .step etc. files available on the front fuselage? Making changes to the stl files on Solidworks is a pain, conversions seem to affect the print quality.

What would be the optimal throws?

I use 3DS Max. No step files. If you want a shorter front outrunner "cup just lower the nose into the bed the required amount before slicing.
