wemotec midi fan
Hi,
Here is a model of the wemotec 90mm midifan, done in Rhino. I have also saved it in a couple of other formats (iges, stp) which I hope some will find useful. The model is done following the sketch I have attached, so best case senario is that it is as accurate as that sketch. In general I think I have kept the overall dimensions quite accurate (inner - outer diameter, length, motor mount diameter), whereas in other areas (blades of the rotor) the approach is mostly "free form". All in all I think the model is good enough for illustration purposes (see how it looks or how it fits in your model). Hope you enjoy |

Just wondering if anyone has created dxf blocks of the Hobbyzone or Parkzone brick components? AR6400, eternal servo, or motor/gear box? These would be handy for those wanting to design their own BNF airplanes.
Thanks, |

Cobra 4130 Brushless Outrunner in Sketchup
I started out intending to do a simple outline, but found myself having so much fun that I got a bit carried away.
Any suggestions on improvements would be greatly appreciated, but as this my first attempt at a 3D model in 25+ years, all I ask is that you please be please be kind |

I will recomend a CAD specialy made for a RC modeller. Its caled DEVCADCAM,- DEVFUSCAM DEVWIGCAM The only drawback is that you need the 3 programs and its not free but its the only cad program deficated specialy for airplanes of any type foam or wood. have a look ai it and let me know.

when you look at the cost of using rhino 5 or autocad or solidworks even using Apps to speed the software design specify for airplanes it out ways the cost of just buying a model from hobbyking that is if they have what you are looking for and not in foam, so if you need sum thing diferant you need cad. so the dev software is a good price and option to design model airplanes i found Devfuzcam2 very good but it has sum bugs / Devcadcam is good for drawing and setting up cut files and layouts for cnc router and laser / Devfuzfoam just can not see the advantage of the software in devfuzcan you can export .STL files to Devstl and do what you need there and a lot more so the combination is beater than devfuzfoam/1 or 2 /Devwingcam good software for rib wing Devwingfoam is ok but i prefer Profili pro 2 /Devfoam looks very good and i do not have a full license for it as i have match 4 Theremino_CNC_V4.6 Jedicut . and they all have there bugs |

Found a couple of online sources for downloadable glow plug engines. Here is the site of Martin Hepperle: http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/cox_cad_models.htm He has downloads for Rhino models of six engines, ranging in displacement from .020 up through .15. The .049 Cox shown here mounted on a Texaco model I am constructing in Rhino, the "Kerswap," is an example of his work. Here on GrabCAD is a Baby Bee 049, designed in Inventor https://grabcad.com/library/cox-049-1# This is the work of Levi Neuzerling. |
