Hello

You can see our shipping cost here:
http://www.handlaunchglider.de/catal...?cPath=194_201

Will be:
Postal Parcel, no transport insurance, max. weight 2 kg, airmail 30,00EUR
VAT/MwSt-Info (25,86 without VAT)

Postal Parcel, incl. transport insurance, max. weight 4 kg, german Post 32,00EUR VAT/MwSt-Info (27,60,- Euro without VAT)

Please see that freight via UPS, DPD, Fedex etc. cost from germany to US can be double of US -> germany. Do not know why, but it is.

And because it is quite expensive, we would like a lot if someone can bring us into contact with a dealer to bring shipping cost down.

But even with shipping i think it is a very good price.

Best regards

I make the price about $165 US, including shipping, depending on shipping choice. Don't know if US will levy duty.

Will not. It is free because it is a kit.

Werner,

I went to that site, didn't see any impressions of the plane. Only one picture of a partial fuselage. Did I find the right spot?

Nope,

you need to go here:

http://forum.flyquiet.co.uk/default.asp

then to DLG and Slingshot. Now you can see all the posts versus only 2...

There has to be something screwed up with how they post the urls there, because that is what I did, copied the url, and pasted it. It worked when I first posted it, but now give an MS VBScript error. Maybe that's a clue right there.

Oh well, I guess you need to follow it yourself through the forum.

Thanks, Wim.

Still seems like a great deal for a quality dlg. Later,

Barry

Hello All,

I just placed an order for two slingshots, one for my Dad and another for myself. We'd both like to get into the DLG part of the hobby.

I've been doing some reading (i.e. Supergee build threads) that suggests not to attempt using fiberglass as an aileron hinge material. The claim is that it is too weak and will break easily.

The slingshot instructions call for creating an aileron hinge out of the existing upper wing fiberglass skin. How did the aileron hinges stand up to use?

Does the upper wing near the aileron hinge have any sort of "doubler" or extra fiberglass reinforcement?

In your opinion, is there any reason why one could not creat a bottom hinged wing (vs. a top hinged wing)?

Cheers,

Marcus

FG is OK, actually. I have my SGII tail feathers hinged with .75 oz glass, and some people have built glass SGIIs using 1.4 oz FG as the hinge. I plan on using 1.7 oz Kevlar though.

Jochen,
Do you sell just the wing? You offered it to me in the past after mine broke but for some reason I never got a response.
