Ok so this past Monday I gave it two coats of paint and to my surprise there were
still some imperfections that didn't show up with the primer so since I put
quite a bit of work in this truck I wet sanded the entire body .
Tomorrow through Monday it's suppose to be nice so I will give it a
very light coat of primer again to prevent drips and then I will repaint it.
I like this blue color !

Quick update and it's not good.
I painted the body twice and both times there were runs, at 65 -70 D no humidity and I
made sure I was far enough not to get runs or overspray it didn't matter.
I never used Duplicolor paint and I will never buy it again, it was coming out
Of the can like water . I used 2x rusthulium on the smoke stacks and gas tanks and it
came out beautiful. The Duplicolor paint looked like it didn't want to stick on the upright panels
it came out nice everywhere else but not up and down so I reprimed the body and in the spring
I will use the 2x which works great on my other models.
I am now reassembling the chassy and will post pics soon.

Sometimes rattle can painting can bite you in the butt.

One trick I have used is to place the can in a pot of hot tap water. Let it sit in there for a few minutes. The heat builds up the pressure inside the can and atomizes the paint better.

HI Kmot I have done that in the past , the difference here is that the paint went on
Nice everywhere on the truck but as I mentioned it only ran on the side panels of the
sleeper . I called the company and all they said was it can happen !
This truck because of it's size needs to be painted with an airbrush or a body shop
to get an even color everywhere.

How much is that beast going to weigh, all fully built and with batteries?

Enough, that's why I built it in 3 sections.
I put evrything on just to see how it looks
and I think that the grey is nice .
Tomorrow I will cut the shafts, I plan on
going to a company called Stock Drive to
get the gears and to see what they say
about the 12v motor I plan on using
It might not be enough because of the
weight of the truck.

Depending on what you're going for exactly, superbrightleds (idk if I can put .com after that) is a good source.

Thanks I will check it out.
I picked up some rubber cushins that will get mounted between the body and the frame
that will serve to prevent the body from shaking and also the body mounts will pass right through.
Once mounted I will post a pic.
