Jeep Gladiator

I've never owned a Jeep but have to admit the new Gladiator is interesting. I barely even "need" a truck but miss my trusty 99 Dakota, which probably handles far better than the Gladiator. I don't go offroad either and a two door Jeep would be better suited for that. Still, the Gladiator just looks so unique and I've been driving boring family vehicles lately, which are probably faster, handle better, and more comfortable than a Gladiator. Anyone else find the Gladiator appealing, or have a Jeep story which would set me straight?
