I use a DS-24 and would get the DS-12 to have a 2nd radio for multiple reasons.
Will I be able to copy my models over from the DS-24?
Would I be able to use either radio with the same model?
Light weigh transmitter option is a big plus for slope sailplanes and hand launch gliders.

zb add 50 bucks to the price and put some sliders on the side!

Yes and yes, you can copy all models thru the whole 12-14-16-24 line.
Just make sure you have same settings and same switch layout.

zb. I re read some of the the various threads on this 12 and saw some of the early concept renderings. I am betting the lead designer for jeti is a tray guy? It just seems the proposed slider location early on was HORRIBLE so see why it was canned. The positioning of the sliders on the early rendering is just not usable. If the position was flipped 180 with the levers facing backwards you would have had something. Many flyers still believe the jr 12x had some of the best feeling ergos ever.. instead of jumping up and down about being so cutting edge steal more of what has worked well in the past. I have never used a knob for anything except in flight mixture adjustment and that fad passed quickly. Personally I like flaps/camber on the left slider, and brakes on the right slider. Maybe you should poll the user base, I doubt many use rotary knobs for anything. Sliders in a good spot with some creative programming are hard to beat.
