ummm you could go with the ultrafly brand brushlesses on aircraftworld.com, and for esc there are many choices: p-25 expensive but the best, the new eflight ones cost about 40, and the align ones on ebay are about 45, and balsa products sells a cheap one too! the ultrafly runs great with my 9.6 volt batt!

Mega makes a drop in 400 replacement. I like the idea of the Ultrafly though.

E-Flite has a couple of brushless speed 400 replacements for $54.99 and a 20 amp ESC for $41.99.

I havent read anything about the motors but the ESC has been well received here.

Eflite 4200 KV

Eflite 20 Amp Brushelss ESC

The 3700KV model is in stock and may be a better match for your plane.

After I looked at the video of a GWS Spit using an Aurora outrunner from E Flightline.com, it convinced me. I ordered one for my me 109. About 45 for the motor alone, 10 more for the stick mount. I have an extra phoenix 25 I am going to use. These are good controllers for what $69? Theres a set up for about 100 bucks. I looked at those balsa product set ups. Looks a little weak to me, but who knows, the price is right.
