Thanks for sharing but be aware this is the "Pro" version and does not have HDMI-out like the M89 most of us use here !

They get warm on normal use, I would not say they run to hot in general. (just from feeling, I have not measured temps)

Your dislodging is rather strange... besides that, can you point to other reports other than Dyna with motor problems?
If not I say it's still a standalone case.

In my X8’s flight, in summer time, motor temp. raised over 40C degree after flight and some over 50C.

The hottest temp after flight was 63C degree on front left motor on Aug 8.
On this flight, I did very aggressive flight (full aileron sideway flight to check gimbal horizon level) with 16m/sec and two consecutive flights for total 15min.
During the sideway flight Gale, Overload warning popped up.
Ground temp. was 26.0/29.5C before/after flight.

Temp. record before/after flight is attached below.

If I did continuous flights say 6 batteries without cooldown or only 3-5min which is not enough to reduce temp unless you use cooling fan (done by someone to show motor failure and crash), I believe motor temp would be accumulated and exceeding the max. temp of 70C degree.
If I did this kind of flight almost every day (as some one did), it will surely damage the adhesive of magnet attached to motor case to create stuck the motor even not in summer season.

Timeline for this flight video is;
0:03 Preflight check
0:05 Max. 16.0M/S, Max. Height 60.2m (to use full sideways movement at 60m rather than usual 150m)
0:21 Firmware update FC 1055E
1:13 1st take off 1080P 60FPS
2:33 Full left aileron at Max. 16.0m/s
3:05 Reached 420m left side & Slow left yaw turn
3:40 Full right Aileron at max. 16.6m/s
4:27 Reached 400m right side, slow left yaw turn
4:55 Full Elevator down, Max. 13.9m/sec
5:15 Warning “Gale warning, please fly carefully”
5:18 Warning “Drone overloaded, please fly carefully”

5:27 Speed reduced to 0.3m/sec – Warning disappeared
5:28 Slow left yaw turn
5:56 Check horizon level – keeping horizon, Slow right yaw turn
6:41 Quick left yaw turn

10:42 Full left aileron turn at max. 16.3m/sec
11:02 Warning “Drone overloaded, please fly carefully” at 300m (approx. 20sec full Aileron)

11:15 Warning disappeared at 495m with 15.4m/sec
11:20 Reached 584m to the left
11:30 Full right Aileron at max. 16.8m/sec

70c seems pretty low, only about 30 degrees above ambient in the summer here down South. I've had heli motors that get to about 130c with no problems.

But that would definitely suggest it's good practice to allow the motors to cool down after each flight.

I can easy sit 10 to 15 minutes in a sauna 90/100c - if I do that 6 times with 3min pause I'm dead

Like you I have the earlier version but don't use the HDMI feature, and as it's a bit cheaper than mine I thought I'd post the link.

I think the temperature recommendation for the motors has to do with the magnets used rather than the glue used to fix them.

I found this in a quick search for max temperature in neodymium magnets.

Can't believe people are getting to the point of worrying about melting point of magnetic properties.

but if being microscopically-anal about it, just get a non contact IR temp gauge if that floats your boat, or better yet a Type J or K thermocouple with onboard digital LED display instrumentation mounted on drone.

shrug.

Did you had crash with your drone? Is it the same on the 4 rotors?
I've got such disloged/dismounted motors problem like on the picture: it's the torsion that provocated the pin distortion under the rotor. It was after a crash I had by my fault. I changed the arms, and no problem.
I can't imagine heat would alter the pin. But since now I have arms spare, I can do some stress test heating them to see if any problem occurs.

just flew mine the other day 50-55F the motors werent even warm so take certain individuals comments cautiouslyas there is an agenda to them

Thanks for your correction. It explaines well.

My comment was based on the experence of brushless motor mounted on RC airplane which had problem of peeling off of magnet after repeated flights without cooling down of each flight.

OK, OK here is version 2. Held on to X8 with a Velcro strap. (am working on a V3 with detachable legs for easy storage)
