Perhaps these little rings cost more than I thought, but that doesn't fit my idea of cheap. I was hoping something for about a buck each was available.
I did google search but I wasn't sure what they were called and I was getting a bunch the bolt on jobs for the blue wonder type motors. After another search I did find a place that sells a 2 pack for $3, so that isn't too bad I suppose. In other news, I'm working on an easy way to hang my planes from the ceiling. I have 9' ceilings and they're quite a stretch even using my little stepladder. |

Put a drop of CA to glue the adapter to the motor.
If you need to get it off again just warm it up with the tip of a soldering iron to soften the CA. |

I fly over thick brush and weeds and most of my problem so far has been losing the prop when yanking hard on the sticks and using full throttle. After the prop is gone it isn't worth trying to find it out there. Initially I was using 2 o-rings and lost a couple props. Then I tried some blue Theraband and still lost one. Maybe next I'll two blue Therabands? |

What I mean is that isn't the idea of the o-rings or rubber bands or whatever, to allow some deflection of the prop as it hits something, thus saving the prop? I am a complete noobie at 3D flight, thus I think 98% of my landings are nose dives, tho I may be exaggerating a tiny bit. I am pondering a prop solution for my West Michigan ParkFlyers Yak 55, as I too have props flying off to secret places when I use prop savers. I've been trying a "bullet nose" style prop mount with APC props, but of course the prop is destroyed at every landing, so far anyway... Anyone ever try a folding prop? |

Zip ties are not for noobs. Rubber o rings and theraband serves the purpose of saving your prop, but if you fly hard sometimes you have issues with the prop moving during high torque maneuvers. Once you are flying and crashes are the exception and not the norm, Give zip ties a try. They hold tighter, cheap, and are super easy to use.
