Thanks Guys
I'll try try to get help for video and pics. I asked my daughter to go with me and got a firm rolling eyes maybe. Anyway I decided to hold off on the Kaos. I'm doing a lot of mods to it and I'm kind of burnt out on that kind of building right now. So, to get the flow of building back I started started a simple out of the box kit build, a Dynaflite Skeeter. It's already been very refreshing, got the fuse completed today. I started a build for it in the slope forum. Here's the link. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...aflite-Skeeter Scott |

It was a very nice day a Torrey, wind was straight in but light. No video of maiden do to cameraman malfunction, but we did a second flight and actually got something to look at.:
First flight was great no trim needed on the ailerons and two clicks down on the elevator for level flight. Took a few minutes to get used to the new guy then started playing with it. The stab issue I was worried about was a nothing burger. Got it up pretty high one time, maybe 200’ or more and put it in vertical dive and let her rip. It came down rock solid singing a nice tune all the way, let it go 100’ or so below the lip and pulled it back up no problem. It rolls well and is very happy inverted. The rudder is strong, good coordinated turns, but pulls hard to the canopy when trying to hold ke. Landing was easy, I set up flapperons and it slowed down real nice . I put a little over an hour on it, the maiden lasted 50 minutes. We passed the tx around a bit and the guys that flew it liked it. I can’t wait to get it out into some decent wind, it should really come alive. I’m having trouble up loading the video, I keep getting an error message. I’ll keep trying. |

Nice! When I worked in Bakersfield about 20 years ago I joined the Torrey Pines Gulls for a year. I loved flying there. At that time there was a good slope available in Bakersfield as well but the flyers were run off.
Those who can, slope. Engines for everyone else. |
