Nice to see the OG model getting a new lease of life. Not sure it needed any more weight up top though!

This version of the buggy gets very good reviews on Banggood. How is it holding up for those who bought it? I know I would want the brushless motor and ESC for reliability, but does it make the buggy too fast for normal bashing? I bought a ZD Racing monster truck in December and probably should have bought this one instead.

I bought it and ran it inside the apartment.
After about 3 runs and a jump, a rear plastic part holding the axle in place broke. I glued it but didn't run it since.
Waiting on the metal replacement parts to arrive.

The remote has two modes. One for kids and a normal mode. Inside the house the kids mode is ok.
In normal mode, when you brake, the car rolls over. If you turn too fast it rolls over.

I wouldn't buy it to use as is. Parts will break. I'd order upgrades to have them available when needed. Price doubles.

I've read of how the ESC on brushless vehicles can be adjusted and that includes the brake. I've never done it, but can see how it can be an issue. To do that, you need a programming card.

Yes, I ordered a brushless kit that comes with a programming card. Still waiting on it to come from China.
I will test it out to see if I can program the FY03 esc.

I'm not so sure you needed to buy the whole kit. I think you could have gotten away with just buying a programming card, but I'm not absolutely sure.
How fast is it when you're trying to just drive around? If it's too fast for normal use, you may have to gear it down. Doesn't it come with a few other gears to try? I had a guy who frequents the 12428 Mod thread say the gears weren't the right size, but if the hole that fits on the motor shaft is too small, can't you drill it out? Understand that this is all speculation because I don't have one, but this and the 12428 are very close to the same.

What about Feiyue FY07, is it more stable than FY03?
Because probably will buy one, but can't decide which Feiyue.

They're all basically the same. They have plastic parts that will break. The rougher you use it, the more likely something will break. When you replace plastic parts with metal ( usually aluminum), the next part after that becomes more vulnerable. As I have said, I wanted a brushless drive so it is more reliable than brushed, but then it may become too fast for my driving style. It seems that most lower priced cars, trucks and buggies give you many plastic parts that eventually get replaced with upgraded parts. There is nothing from one version to the next that makes it more stable. Going to wider wheels and tires may help with that. Otherwise, it's more your driving than anything else that determines how stable it is. Why not just buy the original FY-03 and have fun with it? There is plenty of support on the thread for that vehicle if you run into anything you need help with.
