The Kontronik Koby 40Lv and Jive40Lv are only 7mm thick. This is approx 1 cell thickness which could be great for 3s+2s application. Should be plenty of headroom at 30A current (ca550w)

I havent flown or tested it, but imagine them very comparable performance wise.

The GM5x5 is a winner, draws very similar amps to a 5x5 APC, and I cant tell the difference in flight between a graupner speed 4.7x4.7 and APC 4.75x4.75, except a slightly different noise! The GM 4.7x4.7 is the same as a GM 5x5 blade shape wise, just scaled down a touch.

They get the thumbs up from me, are nicely balanced, and you dont have replace the prop every 2nd flight You can also glide much faster than with a windmilling prop on the front.

Thanks for the comparison pic, they do look nice. A little spendy maybe.

Do they just have the one grub screw to hold them onto the motor shaft, or is there a couple?

I assume you need to grind a bit of a flat on your shaft, as it were

Can you post a pic of the other side of it if pos please

I figured with the amount of S400 props I break on landing its not gonna take long to pay for itself! Plus, you get a nice carbon spinner

One grub screw, its not a chinese cheese steel one though (im good at stripping rubbish grub screws), and a small flat spot on shaft.

More pics (GM/Graupner/APC/TGS) The black mark on the APC means Ive balanced it

Where the best place to buy this folding prop set up in the Uk ??? As I am fed up changing fixed props after nearly every flight due to them snapping in landings arrrrrr
I'm using a mega 16/15/3 motor on mine too
Cheers Lui

jackosmeister , I asume this gm 5x5 folding is very good balanced, but is it possible to balance one if you have to, can I put it in a normal balancer ?

how is the carbon spinner attached ?

and do you have a clue how many rpm:s these will hold up to ? +50.000 ?

Yeh it seems perfectly balanced out of the box. You could get it on a normal balancer with a 3.2mm shaft, as the shaft could exit through the hole in the front of the spinner, havent needed to try that though.

Spinner is attached with a thick fillet of resin on to the centrepeice, similar to how RFM do it but without the carbon tow loops. Its not falling off in a hurry.

I read somewhere 60k rpm, cant find that reference now though!

Hi jack,

Nice prop!!
http://www.soaringusa.com/products/s...ategory_id=381

Can you measure the spinner diameter for us? (if possible in metric)

for me this prop is interesting as well because i have to import the APC props with considerable S+H costs. The break even point is very interesting!

Still waiting on my Voodoo...
