I think you might be safer putting a C271 on the elevator...or a similar size metal geared servo.

Need 4 Speed :-)

C261 are very good! I use them myself in the voodoo.

No problem!

Type of servo is dependent on flying mode

For guite a few flights I used the HS55 new for wing and elevator
My opinion is if you were to use the plane with a 6v s400 for pylon racing flying its probably ok

The problem is in deeeeeep vertical dives from specked out heights using brushless motors after every 6 flights the right starboard wing servo would seem to glitch as I usualy had it in a gentle sloping right turn so if anthing started to happen i got some warning signs

After I landed the plane the servo would twitch itself to death and die and so after two servo did the same replaced them with 261

If your going for state of the art motor system and very high speeds then probably best to go for the 261 or 271 etc
If you got the money get the better servos anyway

I will try out on my older more damaged voodoo the jr141 5gram servo inside the wings roots outside the fuse and probaly just continue to use the hs55 for elevator even though its drifts a bit from temperature differences it seems to work ok for these very small surfaces

You should tell the LHS to stock some as the LHS has on order waiting me my third voodooooooooo

Has anyone tried using the Futaba S3110 Micro High Torq servos in a High Performance model? The specs make them look fast, light (7.7g), and powerful.

Length: 0.9" (21.8mm)
Width: 0.4" (11mm)
Height: 0.8" (19.8mm)
Weight: .27oz (7.7g)
Speed @ 4.8V: .10 sec/60
Torque @ 4.8V: 22 oz-in

Tower's Price $14.99

I have put the maiden on hold until I get the new radio dx6

Been following the dx6 threads 2.4ghz rc units
decided to buy one from the LHS which has ordered the euroland version
as the risks of glitches are nearly zero as you can ever get

great for the fast and low flypasts at head height after the supersonic terminal dive
Now I can risk the 10 foot fly past instead of the thirty foot distance

I generaly fly by mself so there no risk to others

Then if I plant it in the deck well I cant blame the RC unit anymore
and if I swat myself blame flutter crossed sticks turbulance........

SRAC Pylon Racing

Here are a few photos from our monthly Pylon racing at the SRAC field north of Seattle. Gerry and the team there put on a great afternoon. They have 1/2A, Doublers and electric classes. Most of the planes in the electric class are Voodoos thanks to Dave Beardsley's efforts ...

Had time to brainstorm the building, one question arised. how to pull the antenna out? It would be excellent to put it through the end of the fuselage, but there is the elevator pushrod which is metal. Does it interfere receiver??? Would not like to drill hole on side of the fuse just for antenna.
