Cheers for posting the links Birger, pity thet Sussex MC are out of stock, although not any cheaper than the Graupner.

I've had cheaper spinners that have been fine, just don't fancy messing about getting 1 to find it's useless and then have to order again.

I've actually hit a stumbling block anyway. I was going to order the 16/15/2, but I'm confused on amp draw on the motor. Most websites claim it's 4600kv but Mega's website claims it's 4180kv. I'm going to email Mega or Gryphon and ask when the kv change came about. Most posts seem to hint that it's 4600kv, and I'm presuming that all amp figures have been on the 4600kv version.

I'm searching posts everywhere trying to find a definitive answer on amp draw if it's the 4180kv version.

I'm also confused about the different KV's claimed for the Mega 16/15/2. When you have clarity please let me know too. I'm about to order one.

Im pretty sure 4600 is the old kV, I dont actually remember testing a 16/15/2s kV though (which is silly as I usually test every motor)

If you look through the the whole line of 16/15's there is an old and new kV, All my numbers are off the new kV (old higher kV is ancient now (8+ years?), there wont be any for sale). Its due to a magnet change dropping kV.

Yeah I knew that the 4600kv was the old 1, but some posts give me the impression that their 16/15/2 is in fact 4600kv. If the change happened 8 years ago, there's a lot of retailers out there displaying the wrong info. I wasn't sure when the change in kv happened.

I was hoping that your motor, for example, WAS the 4600kv version, meaning the 4180kv would be pull a few amps less and open up prop sizes a little.

Hakank, I've convinced myself that the 16/15/2 is 4180kv despite lots of posts where 4600kv was mentioned.

I won't go through the maths, but if a prop is claimed to be spinning somewhere between 37000-39000 then unless the Mega is running really inefficiently, it's not a 4600kv motor. I reckon the 4600 motor would show at least 40000rpm, prob closer to 42000 in flight (on 3s).

I'll let you know what Mega say if/when they reply anyway.

Feefo, my 4s 1000mAh pack is about 76 x 34 x 21mm and fits snugly with a 35 ESC on top of it, so there's space for a thicker battery if the ESC is repositioned.

Secondly, the servos are mounted to an angled ply plate epoxied to the rear moulded servo well, see photos. This ensures that they're well clear of the battery and ESC.

Cheers, looks good. That's the layout I had planned, nice touch with the rx there, looks like the RX5 was made for it.

The Rx only just fits between the servo arms, but 'just' is good enough! The plywood servo mount is wrapped in carbon effect just 'cos I had some in my spares box. A solid piece of carbon would be the ultimate in bling though.

Quick question guys- what do you use to glue the stab and vertical fin to the fuse ? I was thinking finishing resin mixed with milled fiber...

I am actually really slow
Standard 30min epoxy will be fine. Even thick CA would do it.

I've had an email about some testing Dan did on the 16/15/2, results are

MEGA 16/15/2
KV= 4055 RPM
RI = 5,85 MILIOHM (1 PHASE)
IO = 3,5A /9V

It was also mentioned that any kv testing I might do would probabaly show around 100kv more.

Are you still using the 2W Hanank?

Just wondering if you are why you're considering the Mega?

Now I know the kv for sure, I've confirmed my order for the motor with a few options added.

Thanks for confirming. Meanwhile I found the source I think: http://www.megamotor.cz/v4/script/default.php and there is spec as 4180kv which is in line with Dan's testing. I'm happy with the 2W in my Voodoo, running really well. I'm putting together a Sunracer dealt with in another thread and wanted something hotter.
