Tom, that is impressive. Can't imagine the amount of time it took! Hope to see it at Cajon today.

I could see it doing pumps from under the canopy up the hill, easy to spot for sure and a pleasure to watch.

I didn't get a chance to maiden either of my BD-5's at the Fest this year ...for reasons I wish to not get into! ( heck, one of my P-51s from last year is still a virgin!)

I don't want to take an untested plane on our trip later this summer, so I took them to yesterday's Cajon Daze.

I wasn't in a position to fly them myself (insert joke here) so TFLG was kind enough to fly one for me.

And here's the proof - no video though:
Oh.... and photogaphy credit goes to Greg Houck (howsthewind) who did a fantastic job even as he still only has a Nikon!

And a point to all builders old and new:
Do yourself a favor and build them "PER PLAN"..... You don't need to customize and there's not much left to improve.
Mine is as close to spec as I could make it (well, save the removable wings and tails and a bitch'n servo tray!)
And since the wing sweep was exactly what is called out on the plans, it was balanced to CG at just a scoash forward of the 2.90"rearmost point .
It flew right out of TFLG's hand and flew hands-off with no need for trim to begin with.
