This week the guys over at ProfiCNC who make The Cube (Pixhawk 2.1) announced a new product called HereLink.
An all new digital wireless transmissions system with built in remote controller.

Consisting of a RC Ground station and Air System HereLink will allow users to get long range HD video and control link up to 20km in FCC. The Ground Station is a RC that is of similar design to the ST16 from Yuneec with a dedicated 5.5” 1080P Android based tablet built in, It will ship with a custom version of the Solex App to give Video, control and telemetry all in one unit. Being Android based it also means it should also be compatible with other app like Tower too.





The Ground unit will have a number of programable buttons along side the two standard control sticks, two rocker switches, a wheel and six back lit buttons along the bottom. Tablet connectivity consists of Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS for position data and whole unit will be powered by a 4960mah rechargeable battery.





The Air end unit will transmit the HD video back to the ground station in either 720P 30fps or 1080P 30/60 fps, it has duel micro HDMI inputs for camera connection however there is no analog input but having duel HDMI opens the door potentially for PIP and other options too.
The air unit is powered from between 5 and 12v and has one UART port for connection to the FC or accessories via mavlink and others, control output is a duel serial receiver output for sbus.


The whole system will communicate on the 2.4Ghz band and uses LTE over WIFI, we have not seen a system using this method before and ProfiCNC is stating it should allow for a range of unto 20km in FCC and 12km in CE.


Something else very interesting is both the ground station and the Air end have a decent amount of onboard processing, the Air End especially will have plenty of available as its fitted with a Pinecone S1 SOC with 4 Cores at 2.2ghz and 4 additional cores at 1.4ghz as well as a 4 core GPU, this could potentially open up a huge amount of possibilities for running apps on the Air end its self.

Although currently not available its believed that first beta units should be available before end of December, price is not currently confirmed but its believed to be around $700.

Initial Beta preorders are taking place now, this will be basically release hardware but early software, but updated and additional functionally should come quickly.

Where to watch video of flight with this system what its actual range?

It should be landing in the first few beta testers hands very shortly and as with all things with radio range is heavily dependant on local conditions however these are VERY good guys and they are not going to add a spec that’s not realistic or achievable tbh

That’s entierly setsble from an output point of view, I do not know what the score with phissical stick behaviour is though but will try to find out.
