2018 F5J in the Desert Dec 1st & 2nd - EVEF Stanfield Arizona

We are holding the 4th annual F5J in the Desert at a turf farm in Stanfield AZ NW of Eloy December 1st & 2nd. This event is the 1st stop of the 2019 USA F5J Tour season. We will also be presenting the 2018 F5J Tour awards to the top 10 pilots.

Address: 31260 W Barnes Rd, Stanfield, AZ 85172

GPS Coordinates: 32.923963, -111.898380

Cost for the 2-day event is $60 payable using F3XVault, and includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday. You can also pay cash the morning of the event. If you decide to pay the morning of the event, PLEASE register anyway on F3XVault. Registration will close on Nov-28th.

Payment information, as well as hotel information is listed in the post below. The pilot's meeting will take place at 08:30 AM Saturday morning. We will fly as many rounds as possible Saturday and Sunday morning, and there will be a 4-round 15-minute window fly-off immediately afterward.

Contest Details

We will be adhering to standard F5J rules with the following modifications: you may use an Altis V4 or similar controller capable of logging F5J height and terminating motor run time a maximum of 30-seconds after throttle on. You will be permitted to run Altis F5J firmware (does NOT allow motor restart) or run the standard Altis firmware in F5J mode (does allow motor restart). There ARE power lines on one side of the sod field, so we are allowing emergency power up to increase airplane safety.

You must use the standard firmware settings pictured below that adhere to F5J rules and mark the F5J launch height as "---" if a motor restart is detected. Any motor restart will receive a zero flight score for that round.

All F5J launch heights must be verified on the Altis screen by the timer at the conclusion of each flight. F5J launch heights displaying "---" will receive a zero flight score, so ensure your Altis controllers are setup and tested before the event. There are cases when noise spikes from dirty ESC power will cause an Altis "---". If this happens we will allow verification of motor shutoff height using the Altis flight logs. This must be verified by someone at the scoring tent.

For information on Altis setup, see the manual:
