ZOHD Dart FS WING A PERFECT 10L Back Pack Wing !!

https://www.banggood.com/ZOHD-Dart-Sweepforward-Wing-635mm-Wingspan-FPV-EPP-Racing-Wing-RC-Airplane-KIT-p-1201965.html

The ZOHD Dart is a molded EPP forward swept flying wing in the Sub-250g category. The interesting premise is that aside from looking absolutely stunning in the air the wing can be disassembled and carried in a backpack and then without any tools be assembled at the field. Before we go any further i have to stop and comment on the Darts "look"
There are of course a number of planes already available that have the swept forward wing setup but they are few and far between so it is always interesting when a new model appears on the market . The plane that will spring to mind for most is the SU-47 Berkut or Grumman X-29 and any that flew those (RC obviously ) planes will be aware that the correct CG and tight pitch control are paramount due to the nature of the forward swept wing platform.
On top of stunning looks the Zohd Dart has a trick under its sleeve and that is that it will break down into its component parts which makes it great for a true backpack wing. The main body of the Dart is also large enough to carry all the necessary FPV equipment and keep it nicely protected while you travel

OK , so , everything starts with the box............

The main body/fuselage of the Dart is a relatively simple shell with removable lid for access to the internal bay.

On the side of the body are the sockets were the wing panels slot in . Glued in to the foam body are hard mount connectors into which the carbon spar , servo connectors and a locating "nub" fit

At the rear of the body is the motor mount which gains a little support from the hard plastic lower skid and the upper softer plastic cowling. The standard motor fixing is the standard 22** bolt spacing but with a little ingenuity you can fit the smaller spacing used on the 18** , 16** and 15** motors without any modification

The two forward swept wing panels are strengthened by a carbon tube that is glued into the mid section of the wing. The Elevons are supported by 2 carbon rods which makes them very strong and with a layout that is pitch sensitive this is a must. All the servo wiring is internally routed to keep everything nice and clean. The two stabilizers slot into the molded pockets that are inwards of the Elevons and they are secured in place by the magnets and by the molding itself.

The wings have a tab with a magnet , this tub extends into the body of the Dart creating an extra "lock" which helps keep the plane together. At the front end are the connectors for the servo, carbon rod and locating "nub"

The internal "messy" bay is large and has more than enough room for your choice of electronics.

Everything together and balanced on the CG with a 4S 1000Mah or 3S 1400mah lipo

Some LEDS inserted for night flying.......... there are more on the way

Simple size comparison between : Dart , Sonicmodell F1 , Skyshadow S800 , S800 wing panels

Into the backpack.............

Everything laid out , excuse the slightly dark image. The tablet on top of the backpack is there for the purposes of "scale" , it is a 10inch screen laptop (Chuwii Hi9 Air to be exact ) if you want to get the exact dimensions.

Put the wings together servo to servo and place them in your back pack first. The ridges at the root of the wing and the servo horns will keep them slightly apart whilst protecting the servos.

Insert the wings into the back pack.

Next slide in the body , there is still plenty of room for extra parts , maybe the odd battery.

last throw in the carbon spar, antenna and stabilizers.

Everything in except a couple of lipo's . There is plenty of room left inside for some smaller accessories ie your lipos and a couple of KitKats.

And the tablet for scale again with everything safely inside, absolutely amazing that i can fit a complete flyable wing into that tiny little backpack.
